<p>Description The Administrative Director exercises management responsibility over the business and operational activities of the Urology Mobile Prostate Cancer Screening Unit. The program currently serves patients across the tristate areas. Areas of focus include clinical community work, patient outreach, protocol development and implementation of quality assurance activities and reporting. This position reports directly to the Department Chairman. Responsible for establishing short and long term goals and objectives in line with Mount Sinai Health System as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state and city regulatory agencies. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides administrative direction and coordination in the formulation, interpretation and administration of current and long range policies, procedures and Prostate cancer screening unit program Demonstrates ability to work and communicate effectively with medical teams and other associated staffing. Works collaboratively with supervising physician(s) and care team in a timely manner with respect, and with the goals of patient-centered safety and quality as a priority. Ensure clinical team communicates assessment, treatment and care planning to patient, families and designated caretakers in effective and compassionate manner. Facilitates patient continuity of care for across multi-disciplinary services, and participates in effective, safe and efficient throughput of patients. Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Responsible for tracking patient flow, ensure mobile team schedule patients efficiently & follow up with patients for missed appointments Directs and coordinates the performance appraisal system for all faculty, professional staff and biweekly employees. Provides oversight to management staff to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees aware of changes and current standards. Assures compliance with regulatory, insurance and ethical standards regarding safety of patients, employees and property. Maintains a safe and clean working environment. Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, confidentiality policies, personnel policies, rules, laws, and hospital regulations Interprets and administers policies regarding hiring, payroll, appointments and promotions, placement and orientation of all faculty and/or staff. Reviews and approves all reclassifications, new positions and salary increases related to Mobile Unit staff. Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and New York State and City Department of Health. Chairs department committees and participates in hospital committees as assigned. Performs other related duties Ensures compliance with MSMC policies and procedures. Implements quality assurance programs and oversees monitoring activities to meet standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare (JCAHO) Perform other duties as assigned. Community Work: Develop and implement health education services with community members. Participate in community events and health committees. Support internal and external community outreach activities and perform health education Serve as the liaison between clinical providers in the field and the Medical Director and administrative team to ensure that providers are informed of clinical priorities. Work with the Administrative team to build mobile unit schedule. Keep and maintain Mobile Unit Manuals and Standard Policies and Procedures Participate in trainings, retreats, and debriefs Serves as focal point for the Mobile Prostate Cancer Screening Unit clinical team Works on all clinical activities, projects and programs to facilitate management and continuity of care Design and implement workflows related to clinical quality measures and mobile unit procedures. Trains mobile unit staff, observes and fine-tunes workflows to ensure fulfillment of organizational priorities Monitor and coordinate clinical tracking mechanisms, including referral arrangement, reports and patient tracking. Manage tracking and communication of medical results to patients. Oversees medical assistant team to ensure inventory and reconciliation of medications, supplies and medical equipment. Categorize documents, extract clinical data points to track quality measures for federal, institutional, and department reporting. Maintain and monitoring clinical performance assuring compliance with regulations and policy. Support quality improvement and clinical programs that support patient satisfaction. Support Emergency Preparedness efforts, plans and equipment are up-to-date for clinical emergency response and planning Availability and Essential Requirements: Standard Monday through Friday schedule with some evening and weekend hours. Field work and travel is required. Reliable transportation is necessary. General/Field work - Environment and physical demands - Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift and demonstrate dexterity for short or extended periods of time. Steady exposure to voices and routine noises and occasionally loud sound. Have success in working in cross-cultural settings. Able to work independently with strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to organize, document, and prioritize work. Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively Communicate and interact with patients and colleagues in a culturally appropriate manner Likelihood of working with people from a variety of cultures and speaking languages other than English/Spanish is preferred Equipment and Technical Requirements: Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Medical equipment and troubleshooting Ability to learn new software programs and manage (EPIC) Electronic Medical Record Management Cognitive and Emotional Demands: Problem solving required. Communicates effectively and clearly with patients and team members. Must remain calm and exercise self-control in working relationships with patients and staff Works directly and on a regular basis with persons who are or may become ill or disabled, must possess skills to cope with stresses associated with illness, disability and behavioral health concerns Flexible and self-motivated Promotes a positive work environment.
