<p>WPRI 12 in East Providence, RI, is looking for a talented Multimedia Journalist to cover sports and news content for broadcast, web, social media, and our digital tv app.</p> <p>This full-time position is perfect for someone who can excel in this digital age of journalism. The successful candidate will have extensive New England sports knowledge, the ability to shoot and feed video, report, write in a manner that is clear and engaging, edit and produce content for multiple screens. The MMJ should also have creative ideas and experience in video podcast style coverage, as well as a strong web and social presence.</p> <p>Requirements and Skills:</p> <p>Solid sports knowledge, photojournalist and editing skills, a strong on-air presence, engaging live shots, conversational and accurate writing, and attention to detail. Candidate must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and the flexibility to work any shift, often in a high stress, deadline-oriented environment.</p> <p>A degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related multimedia field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience</p> <p>Fluency in English</p> <p>Prior on-camera professional experience</p> <p>Physical Demands & Work Environment:</p> <p>As a multimedia journalist you must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. You must be able to lift and operate camera equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face to face discussions with individuals or groups, make decision with and without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work in a fast-paced environment in close proximity to others.</p>
