Come discover your next exciting career with the SCDMV!</p> <p>This position is in the Branch Services Administration Office, at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC.</p> <p>This is an internal job posting for Current DMV Employees only</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Branch Services Officer</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support for Regional Managers: Provides guidance and assistance to Regional Managers to alleviate administrative or project-related workload. Coordinates special branch-level events, pilots, or test rollouts under the direction of the Director or Deputy Director. Monitors trend and escalate local challenges that may require higher-level attention.</p> </li><li> <p>Implementation Support & Coordination: Serves as the operational point of contact for the rollout of agency initiatives, process changes, and system improvements. Works directly with Regional Managers to prepare branch offices for upcoming changes, including logistics, materials, and communication. Tracks implementation progress and escalates issues or gaps to the Deputy Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Operational Alignment: Ensures consistent execution of policies and customer service standards across branches. Monitors outcomes of new initiatives and gathers branch-level feedback for continuous improvement. Helps identify and remove barriers to performance consistency.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration with Headquarters: Works closely with Headquarters departments (e.g., Training, Policy, IT, Communications) to translate initiatives into executable branch strategies. Participates in cross-functional meetings and ensures proper handoff of implementation components to branch teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Reporting & Communication: Prepares reports on initiative rollout progress, branch performance metrics, and areas of concern. Maintains detailed documentation to support leadership decision-making. Serves as a communication bridge between branch services and agency leadership during project execution.</p> </li><li> <p>Other Duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval. </li></ul> <p>Agency Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing. </li><li>Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. </li><li>Ability to manage work and provide guidance and supervision to managers and employees. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of South Carolina motor vehicle laws and regulations. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of SCDMV policies, procedures, and processes. </li><li>Ability to make presentations and prepare reports. </li><li>Knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement principals. </li><li>Ability to work independently with limited supervision. </li><li>Ability to use sound judgement and reasoning in making decisions concerning branch operations. </li><li>Ability to manage work and provide guidance and supervision to management employees. </li><li>The Branch Services Officer is headquarters based and responsible for overseeing regional manager operations in the state on behalf of the Director of Branch Services. </li><li>The BSO is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergencies. </li><li>Position requires statewide travel and is subject to working beyond the normal work schedule in order to complete requirements. </li><li>Supervisor responsibility over the four regions' management teams who oversee the 65 statewide offices and contact centers. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Agency Preferred</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree with five (5) years management experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>What's in it for you?</p> <p>At the SCDMV you get to be part of an exceptional team and diverse culture that nurtures mutual success for our customers, employees, and our communities.
