<p>Job Title: Systems Engineer</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The ideal candidate will support the development of advanced control systems by gathering customer requirements, contributing to systems architecture, and guiding a cross-functional team through the product development life cycle. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that complex electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems meet performance expectations, quality standards, and project timelines.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in identifying customer needs and translating them into clear, actionable system requirements. </li><li>Support the development of both physical and functional architectures for project delivery. </li><li>Establish, track, and manage team goals based on company initiatives, product strategy, and project timelines. </li><li>Develop, analyze, integrate, verify, and validate highly complex control systems for Vermeer products, including ownership of the high-level system architecture. </li><li>Lead and mentor cross-functional teams throughout the complete life cycle of product development-from concept through validation and release. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills & Experience</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in systems engineering, including requirement management and system-level integration. </li><li>Proficiency in project management with experience driving cross-functional engineering teams. </li><li>Hands-on experience with electronic control systems, mechanical engineering, and hydraulic systems. </li><li>Experience developing electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems in a production environment. </li><li>Strong analytical skills, including experience in root cause analysis tools such as FMEA, 8D, and Six Sigma methodologies. </li><li>Exposure to model-based systems design principles and practices. </li><li>Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation. </li><li>Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies. </li></ul> <p>Top Skills</p> <ul> <li>Systems Engineering </li><li>Requirement Management </li><li>Project Management </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
