This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Bachelors Nursing Required or BSN completed within 5 years of hire.</p> <p>Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>5 Years Acute care, critical care, ED nursing experience preferred; with</p> <p>2 Years Demonstrated in leadership responsibilities preferred.</p> <p>Certification & Licensures</p> <p>RN Nursing License required *</p> <p>BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required *</p> <ul> <li>New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation. </li><li>Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia with either a: Multi-state license, under the Nurse Licensure Compact OR Single-state license, valid in Virginia only. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served.
