<p>Full job description</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>This position will assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Encourage self-esteem and independence for the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child. Responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of the center children. Provide guidance and support to the children in the classrooms. Work with classroom teacher and assistant teacher on activity implementation consistent with the center's core curriculum and assist in keeping classroom and equipment clean, neat, and orderly. Attend continuing education workshops, trainings and conferences as required by licensing regulations and funding sources.</p> <p>GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Provide care, implement age appropriate instruction/activities, supervision and assist in the management of a class of infants and toddlers (6 weeks-3 years old) in accordance with the center's core curriculum under the direction of the director/head teacher </li><li>Promote the health, safety and well-being of students through a consistent schedule of supervised recreation, snacks and naps </li><li>Assist with the completion of accurate, informative daily reports for each student </li><li>Maintain a sanitary, attractive, orderly learning environment within assigned classroom </li><li>Interface with parents in a professional and cordial manner </li><li>Participate in unscheduled and scheduled supervisory conferences </li><li>Attend and participate in staff and parent meetings and in training and professional development sessions as required by State regulations or funding sources </li><li>Ensure development and maintenance of positive emotional climate including classroom management strategies that support social/emotional development. </li><li>Ensure compliance with NAEYC, state, local, and agency policies, regulations and procedures </li><li>Provide assistance to director to cover in different classrooms as needed </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li><li>PQI Functions: </li><li>Ensure the consistent accurate collection of the data </li><li>Identify patterns and trends of administrative services </li><li>Use results of data to inform supervisor of trends that may impact services </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Hold a High School diploma or GED and at least five hundred forty (540) hours of documented experience working with unrelated infant/toddler children </li><li>Enroll in a CDA program, within the second year of employment, leading to receiving an Infant & Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition by the third year of employment </li><li>Experience working with OEC CDC or similar program preferred </li><li>Ability to perform rigorous physical tasks and to care for very active young children.
