<p>Position Title: Elementary Dean of Students</p> <p>Location: North Harrison Elementary Schools</p> <p>Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Position Type: Full-time (School Year Position)</p> <p>Start Date: January 5, 2026</p> <p>Job Summary: The Elementary Dean of Students plays a key role in promoting a positive</p> <p>school culture, supporting student behavior, and enhancing academic achievement. This</p> <p>position focuses on ensuring the overall well-being and success of all students, while also</p> <p>assisting with the administration of school policies and supporting staff in behavior</p> <p>management, attendance, and discipline. The Dean collaborates closely with teachers, parents,</p> <p>and support staff to address student needs, with a particular emphasis on creating an inclusive</p> <p>environment for students with diverse learning needs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Oversee student behavior management, including implementing positive behavior</p> <p>interventions and supports (PBIS) and coordinating discipline procedures.</p> <p>? Collaborate with teachers and staff to create and maintain a safe and respectful learning</p> <p>environment.</p> <p>? Monitor and improve student attendance, addressing chronic absenteeism and working</p> <p>with families to remove barriers to attendance.</p> <p>? Assist with the implementation and monitoring of individualized education plans (IEPs)</p> <p>and 504 plans for students receiving special education services.</p> <p>? Work closely with the special education team to ensure compliance with state and</p> <p>federal guidelines.</p> <p>? Support students in developing positive social, emotional, and academic skills through</p> <p>targeted interventions and mentoring.</p> <p>? Facilitate communication between families, teachers, and administrators to ensure</p> <p>student success.</p> <p>? Help plan and implement professional development for staff on topics such as behavior</p> <p>management, special education practices, and student wellness.</p> <p>? Lead or assist in organizing school events that promote a positive school culture, such</p> <p>as assemblies or recognition ceremonies.</p> <p>? Serve as a member of the school leadership team and contribute to school improvement</p> <p>initiatives.</p> <p>? Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.</p> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <p>? Valid administrative license issued by the Indiana Department of Education or eligible to</p> <p>obtain one.</p> <p>? A minimum of 3 years of teaching or administrative experience in an elementary setting.</p> <p>? Experience in special education, including collaboration with IEP teams, 504 plan</p> <p>implementation, and behavioral intervention strategies.</p> <p>? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive</p> <p>relationships with students, staff, and families.</p> <p>? Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, and positive behavior</p> <p>interventions and supports (PBIS).</p> <p>? Demonstrated ability to manage student behavior effectively and compassionately.</p> <p>? Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable school environment for all students.</p> <p>? Previous experience in a dean or leadership role within an educational setting.</p> <p>? Familiarity with RTI (Response to Intervention) or MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of</p> <p>Support) frameworks.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Compensation:</p> <p>? 183 day contract, plus extended days TBD</p> <p>? Salary: In accordance with the district's teacher salary scale, plus a $5000 stipend.</p>
