Become a part of the "strength within."</p> <p>Hexcel is currently seeking a R&D Composite Lab Technician for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location.</p> <p>The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:</p> <ul> <li>Autonomously performing technical work to support engineers developing the next generation of advanced materials for the aerospace and space and defense markets </li><li>Work in a state-of-the-art laboratory with research and development equipment in an industrial setting </li><li>Set up equipment and perform testing or analysis, following standard test procedures to assure safe practice and valid results. </li><li>Layup and cure composite laminate panels </li><li>Collect data utilizing various measurement devices such as balances, scales, calipers, and universal test machines. </li><li>Perform calculations as necessary, prepare reports of test data and results in accordance with specified procedures. </li><li>Maintaining departmental files, logs, and records of past experiments and/or tests for future references. </li><li>Maintaining a clean, safe working environment, ensuring lab equipment are in acceptable order. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Degree or equivalent </li><li>College or post-high school training preferred; candidates with an associates/undergraduate degree and or experience with composites, fiber, honeycomb, plastics, and ceramics test techniques and material properties is desirable, especially for aerospace applications </li><li>Ability to understand engineering requirements, safety requirements, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions </li><li>Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, etc.) are required. </li><li>Experience with MS Office, especially basic functions in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Demonstrated mechanical aptitude strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>Eligible candidate must be: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, a temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Act, a person admitted in refugee status, a person granted asylum.
