<p>Hot Operations Efficiency & Setup Specialist</p> <p>Location: AGY Aiken, SC</p> <p>Department: Hot Operations</p> <p>Reports To: Senior Hot Operations Leader</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hot Operations Efficiency & Setup Specialist to join our Forming team. This role is dedicated to enhancing glass performance, resolving position-specific challenges, and elevating workforce competency. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement in a high-temperature manufacturing environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot complex Fiberizing position issues to boost efficiency and minimize waste </li><li>Coach and mentor Forming operators on workmanship standards to improve quality and throughput </li><li>Partner with Hot Operations Supervisors to identify and close workforce skill gaps </li><li>Collaborate with Engineering to develop and implement process improvements aligned with factory goals </li><li>Conduct detailed bushing diagnostics, ensuring optimal heat pattern control and fin alignment </li><li>Evaluate and correct positional setup issues to maintain operational integrity </li><li>Document daily activities, including corrective actions, improvement recommendations, and general observations </li><li>Work with Alloy Engineers on alloy redesign and optimization initiatives </li><li>Serve as acting Hot Operations Supervisor during absences, ensuring continuity of leadership </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication </li><li>Ability to work a 12-hr rotating (DuPont) schedule </li><li>Experience working with diverse glass types and forming processes </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Proven coaching and leadership abilities </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in bushing setup and control </li></ul> <p>Because this role supports critical manufacturing and production activities, it is required to be performed onsite.
