<p>Description The Senior Architect will provide technical expertise and architectural discipline leadership as a member of high-performance, multi-disciplinary project teams providing world-class solutions with an emphasis on design-build project delivery. Projects range from early definition phase studies to detailed construction documents for new greenfield facilities or complex renovations / redevelopments. This position falls under the Global Facilities Division, which includes the life sciences, industrial manufacturing, food & beverage, cold chain logistics, mission critical, and commercial architecture market sectors. The organizational assignment will be in the food & beverage business.</p> <p>This role leads the architectural discipline through the full design and construction process, typically beginning with advanced planning or conceptual design and continuing through construction administration and project delivery. The Senior Architect is expected to demonstrate strong technical judgment, leadership capability, and a client-focused mindset, with opportunity for advancement into architectural discipline leadership positions.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Architectural Leadership & Technical Execution</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead the architectural discipline through conceptual planning, design development, construction documentation, and support construction administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply expert knowledge of architectural concepts, practices, codes, standards, and procedures to deliver high-quality, compliant design solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain architectural design intent while supporting constructability, value engineering, and project execution goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation appropriate to project scope and delivery method.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply experience to complex and technically challenging projects, including development of creative or non-standard design solutions where required.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform quality reviews of architectural deliverables and project-related data to verify compliance with client requirements, regulatory criteria, industry standards, and firm QA/QC procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adherence to the documented QA/QC process for architectural work products.</p> </li></ul> <p>Project Planning, Coordination & Delivery</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead development of the architectural scope of services, deliverables, and associated fees, supporting targeted financial performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in development of integrated project schedules, discipline resource planning, and construction planning activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor architectural performance for adherence to cost, schedule, scope, and quality parameters and report performance against plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and support timely and effective change management related to architectural scope and deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate closely with the engineering disciplines, construction teams, and field personnel in an integrated design-build environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Support construction administration activities, including response to RFIs, review of submittals, field inspections, and resolution of design-related installation issues.</p> </li></ul> <p>Client Engagement & Business Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participate in business development pursuits, including preparation of qualification statements, proposals, technical narratives, and presentations.</p> </li><li> <p>Support client relationship management efforts and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and present technical reports for clients and, as appropriate, for industry publications.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure client satisfaction goals and expectations are met throughout project execution.</p> </li></ul> <p>Leadership, Mentorship & Practice Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the architectural practice team.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and develop less experienced architects, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and accountability.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote effective communication within the architectural team and across the broader project team.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the development and implementation of architectural standards, tools, and best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote and comply with company and client-defined safety policies, supporting a strong safety culture.</p> </li></ul> <p>General Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor Degree in Architecture from an accredited program and minimum 8 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Expert knowledge in standard architectural techniques and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Expert computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)</p> </li><li> <p>Expert computer skills (e.g. BIM (Revit), Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs).</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Expert attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with leading the design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed architectural documents and specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel.</p> </li><li> <p>Registered Architect Preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>10-15 years of architectural experience</p> </li><li> <p>Registered Architect (AIA or equivalent licensure).</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced knowledge of architectural techniques, building systems, codes, and interdisciplinary coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience leading architectural design development for large, complex, and/or multiple projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience in a professional services, consulting, engineering, or design-build firm.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience across the GFS markets; industrial manufacturing, life sciences, food & beverage, cold chain, or mission-critical facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role, including delegation of work and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience facilitating collaboration and fostering a positive, high-performance team environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <p>$125,000.00-180,000.00 Yearly</p> <p>The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
