<p>Under the supervision of the Manger of Summer Programs and instructor for LMU's pre-college program for high school students, this positon will work as a program aid, providing guidance and support to student participants throughout the duration of the class. Prior to the start of the session, this position will be present for training beginning in mid-June. The dates of employment will be late June to mid-July.</p> <p>Position Specific Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist faculty with classroom instruction, record keeping, and other projects. </li><li>Foster an environment conducive to students' educational goals and social development. </li><li>Take attendance and record responses - report back to the Manager of Summer Programs immediately if a student is not in class. </li><li>Attend one-on-ones with Instructor and/or Manager of Summer Programs as needed. </li><li>Address students who impose upon community standards and violate Summer Program and/or University policies. Document incidents in a timely manner and immediately bring them to the attention of the Manager of Summer Programs. </li><li>Assist in establishing and maintaining a positive and safe environment in the online classroom for all students, faculty and staff. Respond to emergencies and crisis situations as they occur. </li><li>Conduct themselves in an honest, conscientious and courteous manner at all times, showing respect for persons of all backgrounds, races, genders, interests, and abilities. Additionally, he/she is to serve as a role model by abiding by all University and Summer Program policies. </li><li>Showcase LMU and its academic programs in a positive light. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or requested. </li></ul> <p>Loyola Marymount University Expectations</p> <p>Exhibit behavior that supports the mission, vision, and values of the university. Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service.</p> <p>Experience/Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Typically a bachelor's degree or related field or equivalent experience. </li><li>Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral). Must be able to communicate both constructively and effectively. </li><li>Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. </li><li>Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable in Microsoft Office package, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
