As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting grant compliance, and ensuring donor intent is honored through accurate and transparent accounting.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>CWI offers one of the most affordable and comprehensive benefits packages in higher education, including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Premium healthcare plans</p> </li><li> <p>11%+ employer retirement contributions</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition discounts</p> </li><li> <p>Generous personal leave</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunities for professional development</p> </li></ul> <p>Strategic Financial Leadership:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with CWI Foundation budgeting</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Perform general ledger reconciliations and journal entries for both the College and Foundation</p> </li></ul> <p>Impactful Work in Higher Education & Nonprofit Finance:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage grant accounting from award to closeout in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and report on investment activity and cash balances</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure accurate recording of donations and adherence to donor intent</p> </li></ul> <p>Collaborative & Compliance-Focused Environment:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work closely with College staff, faculty, and the Foundation team</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare audit-ready financial statements and support annual 990 filings</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain expertise in GAAP, FASB standards, and IRS charitable contribution regulations</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Financial Reporting & Analysis</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in developing the CWI Foundation budget</p> </li><li> <p>Reconcile accounts including cash, bonds, receivables, and fixed assets</p> </li></ul> <p>Grant & Donation Accounting</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform full-cycle grant accounting</p> </li><li> <p>Record and administer all types of donations, including restricted and deferred gifts</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with donor intent and audit standards</p> </li></ul> <p>Audit & Compliance Support</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare work papers and financial statements for annual audits</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the College's audit and 990 tax filing</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain documentation for audit and reporting purposes</p> </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 2 years of nonprofit/FASB accounting experience (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with account reconciliation, financial analysis, and year-end audits</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of GAAP, FASB standards, and internal controls</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in grants and investment accounting (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of IRS charitable contribution regulations and CASE standards (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented, analytical, and organized</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and collaboration skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Instructions For Applicants:</p> <p>Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI.
