<p>Build Your Career with Ashley Furniture!</p> <p>Night Shift Assembly Manager</p> <p>The Assembly Manager provides strategic leadership for multiple production departments, directing manufacturing activities across various work centers and processes. This role leads production supervisors in achieving performance goals while ensuring optimal cost, quality, and safety standards. The position requires excellence in cross-functional coordination and operational planning to meet manufacturing objectives efficiently.</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Operations</p> <p>Direct Reports: Production Supervisors</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Production Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Direct production activities across multiple departments and work centers </li><li>Coordinate shift operations and workflow optimization </li><li>Develop and implement process improvements </li><li>Ensure production targets and quality standards are met </li><li>Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation </li></ul> <p>Team Management & Development</p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor production supervisors </li><li>Make employment decisions regarding hiring, promotions, and performance </li><li>Conduct performance reviews and development planning </li><li>Implement training and skill development programs </li><li>Ensure proper staffing levels across departments </li></ul> <p>Operational Excellence</p> <ul> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives </li><li>Maintain highest standards of floor organization and cleanliness </li><li>Coordinate with purchasing and inventory control </li><li>Optimize product flow and production efficiency </li><li>Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures </li></ul> <p>Safety & Quality Management</p> <ul> <li>Implement and maintain safety programs </li><li>Conduct regular safety audits </li><li>Ensure proper safety training for all employees </li><li>Drive quality improvement initiatives </li><li>Maintain compliance with quality standards </li></ul> <p>Administrative Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage departmental budgets </li><li>Maintain accurate time-keeping records </li><li>Monitor attendance and performance metrics </li><li>Prepare and deliver performance reports </li><li>Document standard operating procedures </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field, Preferred </li><li>5+ years manufacturing operations experience </li><li>3+ years supervisory experience </li><li>Strong understanding of production processes </li><li>Excellence in team leadership </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Production planning systems </li><li>Quality management systems </li><li>Safety management programs </li><li>Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Budget management tools </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strategic thinking </li><li>Leadership ability </li><li>Problem-solving skills </li><li>Communication excellence </li><li>Process improvement </li><li>Team development </li><li>Decision making </li><li>Resource management </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Extended periods of walking production floor </li><li>Ability to access all areas of facility </li><li>Computer work </li><li>Regular communication </li><li>Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Manufacturing facility </li><li>Regular exposure to production areas </li><li>Office environment for administrative duties </li><li>Variable temperatures </li><li>PPE requirements </li></ul> <p>Schedule Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time </li><li>Shift oversight responsibilities </li><li>On-call availability as needed </li><li>Occasional weekend work </li><li>Holiday coverage as required </li></ul> <p>Success Measures:</p> <ul> <li>Production target achievement </li><li>Quality metrics </li><li>Safety performance </li><li>Team development </li><li>Cost management </li><li>Process improvement </li><li>Employee retention </li></ul> <p>Decision Making Authority:</p> <ul> <li>Staffing decisions </li><li>Production scheduling </li><li>Resource allocation </li><li>Performance management </li><li>Process improvements </li><li>Safety protocols </li><li>Quality standards </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>At Ashley, we're more than a business…we're family.
