We provide our clients with the services they need from in force transactions and product development to underwriting and new business strategies.</p> <p>Wilton Re has the resources and expertise to pursue and successfully manage the largest life and annuity transactions in the market.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The AVP, Deputy Controller serves as key support to the Controller and primary successor for the Controller role. This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for multiple entities on a US Statutory and GAAP basis.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Leadership:</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the accounting team and provide direction that aligns with the company's goals and objectives</p> </li><li> <p>Drive analyses to provide insights to the senior team and the board of directors</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the Controller and executive leadership on financial strategy and risk management initiatives</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and drive continuous improvements in accounting processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and develop team members to achieve functional/departmental/company goals and foster positive and engaged work environment</p> </li><li> <p>Financial Reporting:</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure quality and timely delivery of accounting and reporting, disclosures, and analysis to internal and external stakeholders</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adherence with statutory and GAAP standards for accounting and reporting specific to the life insurance industry</p> </li><li> <p>Support internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to requests from regulators, rating agencies, and other external and internal parties</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other functional areas, including the Business Development Team on accounting related matters</p> </li><li> <p>Succession Planning:</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare to assume the role of Controller, including gaining comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of financial operations</p> </li><li> <p>Act as the Controller in their absence, ensuring continuity in leadership and decision making</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of US statutory and GAAP accounting principles and regulatory frameworks applicable to insurance companies </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities </li><li>Strong ability to analyze and improve business processes </li><li>Effective and timely decision-making capabilities </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels and across a variety of disciplines </li><li>Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Experience managing outsourced/third party provider relationships </li></ul> <p>Required Education / Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or related field </li><li>10+ years of accounting experience </li><li>5+ years of leadership within life insurance industry a plus </li></ul> <p>Pay/Location</p> <p>Norwalk, CT</p> <p>Hybrid Structure</p> <p>Minimal to no travel required</p> <p>Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $130,000 and $185,000 Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.</p> <p>Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re's total compensation package for employees. Additional compensation includes annual performance-based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit-sharing program. Employee may also be eligible for long-term incentives (equity).
