<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>The Director of the Educational Talent Search program at the Technical College of the Lowcountry, under the supervision of the Associate Vice President is responsible for the administration of the program, managing the program budget and monitoring the objective outcomes.</p> <p>Job Functions:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Direct the Talent Search Project which includes three components; (high school, middle school, and 'out of school'), according to directives established in EDGAR, negotiating grant outcomes and assuring compliance with the U.S. department of Education, state and institutional policies, procedures and guidelines. According to the purposes and directives established in EDGAR.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, establish, monitor, validate, and evaluate 'key indicators' to ensure appropriate progress toward meeting established outcomes; oversee the data collection process to ensure the availability of required statistics.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the AVP to develop a program budget for the Talent Search Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Screen and Select staff applicants; provide for and encourage the staff's professional training/development.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate outreach and recruitment activities with assigned schools, serve as a liaison between the AVP, the schools, and the community. Initiate contact with responsible parties, provide program orientation and disseminate ETS program information (Plan, coordinate, and implement college visitation/cultural activity and business visitations).</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate financial aid exploration activities/workshops to include providing updated information, guiding and assisting participants with financial aid and scholarship applications, instructing participants on using the internet for scholarship searches, skills tutoring and enrichment.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide GED information, applications and test dates, administer and score practice GED tests. Design and develop program reports for the Department of Education, and the Technical College of the Lowcountry.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide other duties as may be assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree or a bachelor's degree + 2 years' experience in student services programs.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The Technical College of the Lowcountry seeks to be the first choice for higher education in South Carolina's Low Country Region.
