<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Ledyard Public Schools is seeking Elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Teachers to fill anticipated vacancies beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the successful candidate will oversee, and implement creative and innovative academic programs and curriculum related to STEM</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Delivers STEM-oriented instruction </li><li>Implements state science standards </li><li>Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research </li><li>Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning </li><li>Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration </li><li>Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM events/activities such as Invention Convention </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Elementary Teaching Certification (001, 002, 013, or 305) </li><li>Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents </li><li>Success using a variety of teaching styles that facilitate independent and group learning activities </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate work </li><li>Promotion of a positive learning environment responsive to and respectful of the needs of students </li><li>Enthusiasm for teaching and learning </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Per the Ledyard Education Association agreement </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times </li><li>Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Applications will only be accepted online.
