This role oversees compliance programs, maintains records, provides training, and ensures that the organization adheres to safety and regulatory standards to mitigate risk and maintain operational excellence. Develops and promotes good community relations between school district and community clientele.</p> <p>EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DOT compliance, transportation management, or safety compliance </li></ul> <p>LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:</p> <ul> <li>Designated Employee Representative(DER) Certification </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises Safety & Compliance trainers </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in an office, training setting, etc. </li><li>Mostly clean and comfortable </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate training and mentoring needs </li><li>Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and assist in emergency situations on a school bus </li><li>Office-based with periodic fieldwork and travel as needed </li><li>Must be white fleet certified for district vehicle </li><li>Interaction with drivers, department personnel, and regulatory agencies. </li><li>May require occasional evening or weekend work to address compliance issues or training needs </li></ul> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Ensure proper licensing, permitting, and certification for vehicles and drivers.</p> <p>Assist in accident investigations(Accident Review Committee), compliance reviews, and audits conducted by regulatory agencies.</p> <p>Stay updated on changes in DOT regulations and ensure organizational policies reflect current requirements.</p> <p>Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.</p> <p>Work with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.</p> <p>Provide training and education to drivers and staff on DOT regulations, safety standards, and best practices.</p> <p>Implement and enforce drug and alcohol testing programs in accordance with DOT requirements.</p> <p>Oversee and manage driver qualification processes, including background checks, medical certifications, and training programs.</p> <p>Conduct audits of driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and safety programs to ensure compliance.</p> <p>Maintain accurate records of driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and maintenance logs.</p> <p>Monitor and ensure adherence to all applicable DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations.</p> <p>Develop, implement, and oversee DOT compliance policies and procedures.</p> <p>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DOT compliance, transportation management, or safety compliance | Required</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>Designated Employee Representative(DER) Certification - as applicable</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree, High School or Equivalent (Required)</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Ability to use general office equipment, Ability to work collaboratively with transportation staff, school personnel, students, and families, Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively, Collaborative team player, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, Experience in developing and implementing compliance training programs, In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, CDE, and other applicable federal and state transportation regulations, Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and CDE transportation policies and procedures, Maintains a generally positive attitude, Observes all District policies and procedures, Proficiency in Google Workspace Applications and district transportation software (preferred), Proficient in using compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite, Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills, Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>North Terminal</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>40</p> <p>FTE:</p> <p>1.00</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>260 Work Days</p> <ul> <li>(260 days indicates a year-round position.
