<p>The Bus Driver is responsible for the operations of varies types of buses that will transport students and other passengers to and from designated locations. Drivers typically work without direct supervision and are fully responsible for the safety of their passengers. When not required to drive for IWCC, FT Bus Drivers assist the IWCC maintenance department under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrate IWCC's core mission, vision and values</p> </li><li> <p>Transport students and other passengers to and from designated destinations, overnights and weekends, adjust and plan travel routes if necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Make routine checks and inspection of bus and equipment for proper operation, safety, and maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Observe and follow all applicable federal, state, local laws, and regulations governing commercial transportation</p> </li><li> <p>Follow school district guidelines regarding student management and discipline; report incidents to proper personnel</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain required records of bus usage and reports of operation</p> </li><li> <p>Drive commercial transportation vehicles with airbrakes</p> </li><li> <p>Perform minor maintenance and safety checks of commercial vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Perform a wide range of non-technical maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining grounds and grounds equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to do tasks as assigned in an efficient and timely manner with little supervision</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors and performs non-technical standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems, such as bulbs, fixtures, switches, photo cells, and outlets; assists licensed electricians as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paints interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Performs snow removal, as needed</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Must have and maintain a valid CDL B/passenger license and school bus driver endorsement</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 6 years general driving experience is preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of commercial transportation vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of bus evacuation procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to present information both verbally and in writing in a professional manner</p> </li><li> <p>Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out</p> </li><li> <p>Wear/use PPE at all times</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment</p> </li><li> <p>Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers and vendors</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S Driver's License and a good driving record</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pass a drug screen & pre-employment physical if applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift over 50lbs</p> </li><li> <p>Operation of Class B motor vehicle requiring frequent upper body movement; repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to include grasping both firm and light; primarily right side to operate door opener. </p> </li><li> <p>The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate bus equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to driving a school bus during adverse weather and traffic conditions, extreme temperatures, vehicle exhaust, odors, poor ventilation, and intense noise</p> </li><li> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with internal and external customers, listen to and respond accurately to information and directions. (hear), and observe, assess, identify, detect</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle and operate lifts and machinery. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue</p> </li><li> <p>Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina</p> </li><li> <p>Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises and working in confined spaces</p> </li><li> <p>Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions</p> </li><li> <p>Work is frequently done in outdoor weather conditions; rain, snow, sun, wind and other forms of weather</p> </li></ul>
