<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Safety & Security Operations Center (SSOC) Manager, under the direction and supervision of the VP of Safety & Security Compliance, is responsible for overseeing the 24/7 monitoring, response, and coordination functions of the organization's Safety & Security Operations Center. This role manages daily operations, supervises SSOC staff, ensures compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and supports the organization's mission to provide a safe and secure environment for participants, staff, and visitors. The SSOC Manager acts as the central coordination point for security incidents, emergency notifications, and real-time situational awareness, while integrating physical security, life safety, and emergency preparedness functions.</p> <p>Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities</p> <p>Functional Category: Management of Safety & Security Operations Center</p> <p>Estimated Percent of time Spent - 40%</p> <ul> <li>Manage day-to-day operations of the SSOC, ensuring continuous monitoring of CCTV, access control systems, intrusion alarms, panic alarms, nurse call systems, wander management systems, and mass notification systems. </li><li>Schedule and coordinate staffing to maintain 24/7 operational coverage. </li><li>Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for SSOC response times, resolution rates, and system uptime. </li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain SSOC standard operating procedures (SOPs). </li><li>Cultivate a bench of leadership and technical talent to deliver results and support future growth. </li><li>Infuse team with a sense of purpose and create clear accountabilities and metrics. </li><li>Build and lead an agile and responsive team that is accountable for maintaining a cost effective, secure and stable environment, maximizing customer service, system availability and performance. </li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal employment laws. </li><li>Ensure all SSOC operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as organizational policies. </li><li>Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding employees; corrective disciplinary procedures and practices (under direction of supervisor and in partnership with Human Resources), addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li><li>Ensure SSOC staff are proficient in monitoring systems, emergency communication protocols, and incident documentation. </li><li>Ensures annual employee performance reviews are conducted in a timely and effective manner. Evaluates performance of employees for compliance with established policies and objectives of the organization and contributions in attaining objectives. </li><li>Helps set the tone of the department to ensure high morale and teamwork, and that the positive employment culture of the organization is maintained. </li><li>Regularly schedules leadership/management, department, and staff 1:1 meetings to provide leadership, development, and a forum for communication to ensure coordination and collaboration in meeting organization and individual goals. </li></ul> <p>Functional Category: Safety & Security Compliance Operations</p> <p>Estimated Percent of time Spent - 60%</p> <ul> <li>Monitor global safety and security concerns that affect our offices or employees using a global threat management platform. </li><li>Oversee incident intake, triage, and escalation in alignment with established response protocols. </li><li>Oversee the use of incident management software for reporting, tracking, and analytics. </li><li>Assist in the communication of critical incidents ranging from extreme weather conditions, political instability, crime, terror, and sudden onset disasters utilizing crisis management response plans. </li><li>Help facilitate company-wide coordination in response to any potential crisis while supporting management with continuous information on the incident. </li><li>Coordinate with internal and external security, emergency services and law enforcement personnel when required. </li><li>Provide timely and accurate reporting and updates on ongoing incidents. </li><li>Communicate globally with employees using an emergency notification system. </li><li>Follow escalation procedures to both Safety & Security Compliance team members, as well as to support partners within the company. </li><li>Carry out Emergency Preparedness Compliance, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. </li><li>Provides physical access badge administration and access management to employees across the company portfolio. </li><li>Monitors all alarms, CCTV, access control, phone lines, life safety and other monitoring systems in order to promptly respond to all reports and information about theft, alarms, accidents, hazardous material releases, fires and other incidents that may occur. </li><li>Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner. </li><li>Conduct investigative video reviews and report findings to the Physical Security Compliance Manager. </li><li>Dispatch security, fire, EMS, or other response personnel as required. </li><li>Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms, emergency situations, first responder, secure ingress and egress situations. </li><li>Conduct Safety & Security Compliance audits, ensuring adherence to InnovAge policies and applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and standards. </li><li>Prepare regular reports for leadership on incident activity, system performance, and SSOC operational metrics. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all concerned; participates as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change. </li><li>Communicates and interacts with co-workers and all others in a pleasant and professional manner at all times. </li><li>Maintains strict confidentiality of personnel data, proprietary information, and sensitive materials as required. </li><li>Maximizes cost efficiency and productivity in the use of all resources of the department and organization. </li><li>Attends all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions. Attends and successfully completes all mandatory trainings. </li><li>Does not communicate with any news media or volunteer business information to other agencies. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions</p> <p>REQUIRED</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation</p> <ul> <li>Requires state issued driver's license, personal transportation, good driving record and auto insurance as required by law and the ability to travel. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum (6) years of progressive experience in security operations, public safety, or emergency management, including at Strong leadership and management skills and a minimum of six (6) years' experience supervising staff. </li><li>Ideal candidate will have safety, security and emergency management experience in the healthcare industry at health delivery and/or insurance organizations. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems and service as well as conducting investigations. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing projects. </li><li>Superior customer service skills and orientation </li><li>Strong verbal and written (report) communications skills and presentation skills. </li><li>Ability to always maintain professionalism under stressful situations </li><li>Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints </li><li>Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision </li><li>Strong judgment, problem-solving and crisis management skills. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and collaborative style. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Visio and Microsoft Outlook software. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation</p> <ul> <li>IAEM Associates Emergency Manager or Certified Emergency Manager, preferred. </li><li>ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), preferred. </li><li>IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), preferred. </li><li>Other Safety and Security Management related license or certification. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated subject matter expertise in safety, security and emergency management operations, with a clear understanding of risk management principles. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of safety, security and emergency management best practices including subject matter expertise for technical, physical and electronic protection systems. </li><li>High-level critical thinking and analytical skills, management experience and exceptional relationship management competencies to understand the impact and sensitivity of safety, security and emergency management issues. </li><li>An advanced and functional understanding of current and emerging safety, security and emergency management industry standards, technologies and systems. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>InnovAge is dedicated to empowering seniors to live independently, allowing them to age in their own homes and communities safely.
