Position will remain open until filled.</p> <p>This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship at this time.</p> <p>Working from late November through the end of March, the Seasonal Reader will be responsible for reviewing first-year applications and making a recommendation regarding admission. A Bachelor's Degree is required; familiarity with liberal arts education is preferred. To meet weekly reading goals, the Seasonal Reader must be able to devote a minimum of 10-20/hours/weeks to the application review process and attend a training session in late November. A primary focus includes the thorough evaluation of secondary school transcripts and supporting credentials. It will be necessary to have a close working relationship with the Director of Recruitment and the application processing staff responsible for preparing applications for review. This position may choose to work remotely or on campus. In order to read our online applications, this position will require a private space and must have access to a computer and high-speed internet. Given the confidential nature of application review, it is essential that this position exercise the utmost discretion. Essential Functions Statement(s) • Attend training sessions in late November and participate in the full application reading cycle from November to March. • Review first-year applications, including high school transcripts, standardized test scores, personal essays, recommendation letters and other application materials. • Submit detailed application evaluations regarding the admission of candidates. • Collaborate with the Director of Recruitment on consistency of file evaluation. • Be available for one call per week to discuss, in committee, candidates and scholarship awards. • Other duties as assigned. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: One year of experience working in higher education is required. Computer Skills: Proficiency with database systems (e.g. Microsoft suite Excel & Word, Technolutions Slate, Google Suite).
