This position will play a critical role in overseeing daily security operations, planning and supporting large-scale off-site events, and maintaining a safe environment during after-hours and special company functions. This role develops and enforces security policies, oversees incident response, manages access control systems, and ensures compliance with applicable insurance industry, healthcare, and workplace safety regulations. The Security Director works closely with Facilities, Human Resources, and Compliance teams to create a secure environment that supports the company's operations and culture.</p> <p>This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and implement the Executive Protection Program for the CEO, Executive Suite and Board of Directors including travel and residences.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's physical security strategy and procedures and serve as the company's subject matter expert on physical security best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage building access systems, visitor management processes, and employee ID badge programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Facilities team on training and implementation of procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor alarms and respond to alerts or building access, may require response during nights/weekends</p> </li><li> <p>In coordination with Facilities, oversee, audit, and maintain the building guest system, ensuring accurate check-in/check-out records, proper visitor identification, and compliance with security protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems</p> </li><li> <p>Complete monthly badge audit to ensure compliance with SOC Audit requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to assess safety risks and vulnerabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to and document physical security incidents, suspicious activity, workplace safety concerns, and emergency situations</p> </li><li> <p>Design and manage the Crisis Management Program, including incident management and threat assessments partnering with HR, Legal and IT.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the company's emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and active threat protocols, in partnership with members of the Incident Assessment Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide annual workplace safety and security training to employees</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in local, state, or federal working or advisory groups to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular security risk assessments and facility safety audits to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide regular reports to leadership on crime trends and incidents in the surrounding area, including potential impacts to employees or company operations</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable state safety regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with the building landlord to identify, recommend, and implement security enhancements.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with leased building security teams to align protocols and share intelligence.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement and maintain security technologies including access control, surveillance, and threat detection systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with IT security team to coordinate on incident or vulnerabilities where physical and cyber risks intersect.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop joint response protocols with IT to ensure a seamless approach to hybrid threats</p> </li><li> <p>Share intelligence on emerging risks affecting both physical and information security domains</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Vice President, Human Resources to execute workplace violence prevention programs, policies, and training; and assist in post-incident response and recovery following any workplace violence or safety concern.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead internal security investigations related to workplace violence, theft, fraud, and other incidents impacting personnel or assets as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Support Human Resources during employee termination situations as needed to ensure a safe and respectful process.</p> </li><li> <p>Design and lead the Travel Security Program, to ensure the safety of team members traveling in compliance with travel safety standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and execute security plans for off-site events and gatherings.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safety compliance at venues, including fire codes, crowd management, and emergency evacuation plans</p> </li><li> <p>Provide on-the-ground security presence during events, including setup and breakdown</p> </li><li> <p>Travel with executives to provide protection during business trips, events, and other company-related travel. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in corporate, military, or law enforcement security (15+ years preferred). </li><li>Working knowledge of surveillance systems, building access control, and physical security principles. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and security operations. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving experience. </li><li>Strong communication, de-escalation, and situational awareness skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and make quick decisions under pressure. </li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally, out-of-state, and out-of-country. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>CPR/First Aid/AED Certification. </li><li>Event security or crowd control experience. </li><li>Experience working in a corporate or professional office setting. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Business Management, or related field required. </li><li>At least ten (10) years of safety/security experience. </li><li>Ability to obtain a protective agent license from the MN Board of Protective Agent Services. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced training or certification in safety and security. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Travel Requirements: Up to 50% annually, as needed. </li><li>Weight Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum 50 pounds. </li><li>Walking/Standing: Ability to travel through facilities as required to conduct safety inspections. </li><li>Sedentary Work: Ability to sit for short/long durations of time at a desk while navigating a computer. </li></ul> <p>RELATIONSHIPS</p> <ul> <li>Reports To: Vice President, Human Resources </li><li>Directly Manages: None </li><li>Internal Relationships: Executive Leadership Team, All members of the Leadership Team, All Team Members, Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology (IT), Privacy Officer, Security Officer, Compliance Officer </li><li>External Relationships: External vendors, auditors, consultants, Legal Counsel, member companies, visitors, etc. </li></ul>
