The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 - 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.</p> <p>Why We Do This Work:</p> <p>The Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 has set an ambitious agenda for change, guided by the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels and academic gaps can and will be eliminated with the support of teachers who deliver engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous instruction that excites students and instills a love of learning in them.</p> <p>What We Need:</p> <p>The Coordinator of EL Student assessment and data is responsible for the coordination and oversight of: identification, assessment, and placement of English Learners in the appropriate TBE/TPI sites in the District, and the coordination of annual assessment requirements for bilingual students district-wide.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All Functions are under the Director of the EL Director</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates annual language assessment of TBE/TPI students; responsible for organizing and scheduling assessment teams for specific EL Testing. </li><li>Supports implementation of District Assessment Procedure (DAP) for LEP students (Identification, Assessment, Placement, Exit) Grades PreK -12 by problem solving and provides evaluative feedback. </li><li>Provides coaching and training to assessment testers. </li><li>Analyzes trends with summer school data and prepares reports. </li><li>Analyzes Early Warning Intervention System (EWIS) for bilingual students to assist in the development of appropriate intervention strategies with students. </li><li>Develops and implements a schedule for testers at Welcome Center, and supervises the administration of the correct assessment at the Welcome Center. </li><li>Provides training for testers on all WIDA assessments. </li><li>Works independently to create and analyze data efficiently on Excel, and generates reports for analysis to assist in identifying and evaluating current trends. </li><li>Prepares the Spanish Universal screener assessment for schools and sends out for electronic scoring. </li><li>Acting under the direction of the EL director, conducts the organization and management of EL assessment with the family welcome center and other facilities. </li><li>Regularly audits the bilingual manual at all locations and recommends revisions as required. </li><li>Conducts PD for all testers annually. </li><li>Is responsible for training of all personnel with bilingual paperwork and procedures including pre-K. This includes: enrollment forms, testing, and all other facets of registration.. </li><li>Communicates and collaborates with family welcome center and EL staff weekly, and is initial point of contact for the EL dept. </li><li>Meets with Bilingual families for consultation of bilingual services. </li><li>Analyzes reports for two year monitoring of transitioned students to evaluate the need for the intervention or program management. </li><li>Advanced time management skills required. </li><li>Evaluates and develops data reports to accurately communicate student data pertaining to the testing of EL students to parents, District staff, and ISBE. </li><li>Demonstrates initiative by keeping up to date with the law in Bilingual education. </li><li>Coaches Family Support Managers in EWIS. </li><li>Works with preliminary placement data using ACCESS to project the following year's classes and analyzes data for appropriate placement. </li><li>Supervises the process of data management regarding EL students. </li><li>Supervises the maintenance of Bilingual Notification Forms, Home Language Surveys, language proficiency tests and parent consent letter. </li><li>Analyzes data trends and assists the EL Director with projections for classrooms each year; </li><li>Performs other job related duties as may be assigned by the Director of EL Programs. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze, develop and provide assessment and data for EL students. </li><li>Following data analysis generates reports for the EL Director in relation to student data required to accomplish EL department functions. </li><li>Coordinates data files for each student with student registration; </li><li>Performs such other professional duties as may be assigned by the Director of EL Services. </li></ul> <p>Formal Education:</p> <ul> <li>Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. </li><li>Advanced computer knowledge and experience required. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and ability to produce multi-page reports/forms, and use multiple software packages. </li><li>Must be able to operate standard spreadsheet programs and compile PowerPoint presentations as requested. </li><li>Knowledgeable of District Bilingual programming and assessment procedures of EL students. </li><li>Must be able to interpret test scores and problem solve with administration and the Illinois State Board of Education. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including - Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint </li><li>Knowledge of Infinite Campus or similar software program </li><li>Knowledgeable of District assessment procedures of LEP students and the instruments used to assess them. </li><li>Experience in administration of tests of academic achievement. </li><li>Ability to interpret test scores and report cards. </li><li>Ability to conduct parent meetings in English and/or Spanish. </li><li>Type 75 with bilingual endorsement required. </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications/Licenses:</p> <p>Must have previous experience with EL Programming in regard to registration and data, and a thorough understanding of how to obtain and manipulate report data from student database systems and SIS.</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Grant funded year-to-year</p> <p>Salary Range: Salary Structure</p> <p>Application Deadline: Candidates must submit an online application by closing date.</p> <p>Only online applications will be considered.</p> <p>Apply: www.wps60.org</p> <p>Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 offers employment opportunities without regard to age, gender, gender identity, race, color, national origin,</p> <p>religion, marital or military/veteran status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, parental status, genetics, disability or other portected category.</p>
