With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future!</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The State and Local Tax (SALT) Analyst is responsible for preparing and managing compliance, reporting, and planning for state and local tax obligations, including severance taxes, sales and use taxes, property taxes, and other industry-specific taxes. The ideal candidate will have experience in tax compliance within the natural resources or mining industry and a strong understanding of tax regulations in multiple jurisdictions.</p> <p>Day-to-Day:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare and file state and local tax returns (severance, sales/use, property, income, excise, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure timely payment of taxes and accurate reporting of all mining-related tax obligations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain detailed tax records to support audits and financial reporting requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to state and local tax audits and inquiries, providing necessary documentation and analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Research tax regulations to ensure compliance with state and local laws and minimize tax risks.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor legislative changes that impact state and local taxation in the mining industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in developing tax automation processes and improving data integrity for reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement best practices for tax tracking, reconciliation, and forecasting.</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with finance, operations, and external advisors to enhance tax efficiencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with special projects including but not limited to tax accounting, tax planning, and/or other international tax compliance.</p> </li></ul> <p>Is This You?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar field. MT/MA is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>CPA or EA is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>2-5 years of work experience in a Corporate Tax capacity.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of state tax regulations, particularly severance, sales/use, and property taxes.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Accounting for Income Tax under IFRS or GAAP.</p> </li><li> <p>Mining industry experience an asset.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with SAP and OneSource Tax Provision is desirable.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong proficiency with computer software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to details.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates a strong drive for results and decision quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity comfortably.</p> </li><li> <p>Can learn quickly when facing new problems and is open to change.</p> </li></ul> <p>For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $70,000-$80,000.
