<p>Rockland Public Schools Vacancy 2025-2026 Paraprofessional Support in the Transitional Learning Center (TLC) Program</p> <p>Job Description: The special education paraprofessional serves as a supportive assistant to classroom and special education teachers. Under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher, the paraprofessional may assist with classroom management, data collection, small-group and individual instruction, coaching, monitoring, direction and redirection, and, at times, physical support for students with special needs.</p> <p>Job Qualifications: Paraprofessionals are expected to hold a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of post-secondary education, or an associate's degree. Paraprofessionals should have prior experience working with children in a school setting. Preferred skills include second language abilities and experience working with students with special needs.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting students in achieving academic and social successes Behavior support using verbal de-escalation strategies Ability to be trained in Safety Care Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education Teachers, as well as related service staff Any other duties as may be assigned by the building administrator</p>
