<p>Summary</p> <p>Reports to the Manager/Supervisor/VP of Nursing. Compilates Nursing schedules, posts available hours and does payroll functions. Provides secretarial services to the directors and management staff including typing correspondence and memos, assisting with special projects/reports, performing routine mailroom duties and providing general assistance to the Manager/Supervisor. Be on their team. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Transcription, Typing, and Compilation:</p> <ul> <li>Completely and accurately types of correspondence and documents within requested deadlines. </li><li>Compiles Nursing schedules and posts available hours. </li><li>Completes payroll for the Nursing department. </li><li>Distributes documents to appropriate personnel within requested deadline. </li><li>Types College schedules. </li><li>Revision, posting and distribution of policies. </li><li>Types, copies and collates educational materials for nursing orientation classes. </li><li>Helps organize various luncheons, educational offerings and classes (fliers, RSVPs, class folders, name tags, copy work, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Filing and Mail:</p> <ul> <li>Accurately files records pertinent to the Nursing Department. </li><li>Sorts incoming mail and distributes properly as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Scheduling/Charging/Ordering:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for preparing and distributing staff development calendar and posting educational materials on the intranet. </li><li>Assists with scheduling of required classes/education for clinical staff (ACLS, BLS, PALS). </li><li>Requisition rooms for classes/meetings as needed. </li><li>Orders refreshments as needed for classes. </li><li>Orders and receives all supplies that are needed for prenatal and diabetes education classes. </li><li>Orders supplies for Nursing Office. </li><li>Supports the volunteers Liaison with communications, room reservation, ordering supplies, and maintaining information distribution. </li></ul> <p>Telephone and Reception:</p> <ul> <li>Takes complete and accurate messages, relays to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Maintains good public image on the telephone and in personal contacts. </li><li>Receives and records information from diabetes class participants and forwards to educators and admitting. </li><li>Faxes diabetes class information to appropriate physicians. </li></ul> <p>Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department:</p> <ul> <li>Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Up to 1 year experience is required. Previous hospital-related experience is helpful. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills required. </li><li>Good typing and filing skills. </li><li>Working knowledge with computers and proficient in Microsoft Office Products. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Ability to concentrate and work in an area with many distractions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Occasional lightweight lifting </li><li>Bending, stooping or sitting in a confined position. </li></ul>
