If the role interests you and you would like to be considered we encourage you to apply!</p> <p>The Manager of Analytical Chemistry will oversee the analytical chemistry department, manage a team of scientists and technicians, and ensure the effective development and execution of analytical methods. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision to support research, development, and quality assurance efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, experience in managing teams, and a proven ability to drive project success.</p> <p>In this role you will:</p> <ul> <li>Team Leadership and Management - Managing, mentoring, and supporting a team of analytical chemists while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Conducting performance evaluations and promoting professional development. </li><li>Technical Oversight on Method Development and Data Analysis - Provide technical guidance and oversight during the development and optimization of methods, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards. Review and validate new and existing methodologies to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability. </li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration and Mentorship - Collaborate with research, development, quality assurance, and production teams to support project objectives and address technical challenges. Influence and drive decisions across departments. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists and laboratory staff. </li><li>Innovation and Technology Integration - Identify and assess new technologies, tools, and solutions for their feasibility, scalability, and alignment with organizational requirements. Develop and articulate a strategic vision for innovation that aligns with the organization's goals and market needs. </li><li>Project and Budget Management - Define project scope, goals, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. Prepare detailed project budgets, in addition to a managerial budget for each fiscal year. Monitor and control expenditures to ensure they align with the approved budget. </li></ul> <p>Safety - Adhere to company and laboratory safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling and disposal of materials.</p> <p>What You'll need to be successful :</p> <ul> <li>Completed Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry , or related discipline </li><li>7 - 10 Years of experience preferred </li><li>At least 2-4 years in a management or leadership role, extensive experience in analytical chemistry. Experience in quality management systems, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory submissions and guidelines is preferred. Knowledge of statistics is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Technical Skills: Extensive experience with analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, and spectroscopy. </li><li>Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with strong skills in mentoring, performance management, and team development. </li><li>Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. </li><li>Innovation: Ability to identify and implement new technologies and methodologies to advance research and improve processes. </li><li>Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively. </li><li>Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. </li></ul> <p>The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $111,500.00 - $131,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.</p> <p>Here at ScottsMiracle-Gro, we believe providing an enriching and engaging employee experience is what sets us apart from other organizations.
