<p>Overview:</p> <p>Position Title: Analyst I</p> <p>Business Title: Laboratory Analyst I, Metals</p> <p>Entity: Consumer Products Services Division</p> <p>Department: Galbraith</p> <p>Location: Knoxville, TN</p> <p>Reports to (N+1): Metals Laboratory Supervisor</p> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.</p> <p>However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Laboratory Analyst I, Metals is responsible for preparing and analyzing a wide variety of client samples for elemental content using analytical chemistry methodology and various spectroscopic instruments.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>It is everyone's responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes</p> <p>by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress.</p> <ul> <li>Preparing samples, standard reference materials, reagents, and/or solutions. </li><li>Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area. </li><li>Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation. </li><li>Documenting/recording raw data and results of analyses. </li><li>Executing analytical procedures in accordance with the appropriate regulations. </li><li>Follow the guidelines set forth with the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. </li><li>Comply with company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies. </li><li>Follows the guidelines set forth in the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan. </li><li>Adhere to the requirements of the company Quality System. </li><li>Other duties as defined by supervisor, department needs and workload. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Proficiencies:</p> <ul> <li>Good critical thinker and problem solver, possess good interpersonal skills, and have good technical writing and communication skills. </li><li>The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and interpret mathematical relationships. </li><li>Possess a willingness to learn in a team-based environment. </li><li>The ability to work independently and as part of a group. </li><li>Good attention to detail. </li><li>Basic computer skills </li><li>Positive attitude, self-motivated, high level of engagement </li><li>Adheres to company values </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory preferred </li><li>Experience in a GLP/cGMP and ISO regulated environment preferred </li></ul> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.</p>
