<p>About the Role:</p> <p>Grade Level (for internal use):</p> <p>12</p> <p>S&P Global Market Intelligence</p> <p>The Role: Consulting Principal -Economic Consulting</p> <p>The Team:</p> <p>The Global Intelligence and Analytics (GIA) consulting team supports our customers with a horizonal view of the geographies, sectors, and operating environments that shape the world in which these organizations, their suppliers, and their customers operate. Our consultants design unique solutions using unparalleled data and analysis spanning: economics and industry, supply chain and logistics, geopolitics and risk. We leverage the domain expertise of these three practice areas to design custom models, scenarios, indices and analytical systems meant to inform critical decisions across a diverse range of customer workflows and sectors industries.</p> <p>The Impact:</p> <p>This role presents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping our customers' strategies and planning. The successful candidate will lead client engagements, developing technical and strategic solutions together with fellow consultants, best-in-class researchers, subject matter experts, and data and analytics teams. The project work will have a focus on our clients in the consumer/retail, manufacturing, and service sectors.</p> <p>In this position, the candidate will work to meet unique client needs using economic and econometric analysis. Specifically, this role includes preparing macroeconomic scenarios for stress testing of financial institutions portfolios, developing optimistic/pessimistic scenario analysis for a range of client sectors, analyzing consumer behavior related to spending patterns and trends, and studying certain specific client industries for market sizing, segmentation and forecasting analysis.</p> <p>In addition to specific client projects, this role also includes the maintenance and development of our US demographics model. This will include tracking population and migration trends in the United States across various demographic sectors such as age, race/ethnicity, gender, and local markets.</p> <p>What's in it for you:</p> <ul> <li>Be an integral part of the development, management, and growth of the United States consulting team, contributing to the growth of our macroeconomic stress testing scenario analysis capability, demographic modelling and forecasting, project delivery, and presentations for financial institutions and corporate sector. </li><li>Engage with client leaders, from senior economist, corporate strategic planners and policymakers to senior financial executives and budget owners, helping to share insights and guide decision-making. As part of this team, you will have development opportunities by working on projects across all our capability areas and sectors, supported by our global team of colleagues. </li><li>You will be part of a team and environment that fosters creativity and innovation, encouraging you to bring new ideas and methodological approaches. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Project management including an internal, and more importantly external, project leadership role. </li><li>Conceptualizing our technical approach and methods and communicating this in presentations, proposals and pitches to clients and prospective clients </li><li>Conducting in-depth economic analysis including preparation of macro stress-testing scenarios, demographic modelling and analysis and macro/microeconomic scenario research. </li><li>Conducting and supporting econometric modeling and forecasting </li><li>Present methodological process and project findings to clients, lead analysis and reporting of insights, and provide technical support tailored to client needs. </li><li>Provide support to our commercial team in building a pipeline of business in the Unites States focused macroeconomic scenarios for financial institution stress testing, demographics and demographic modelling and forecasting, consumer market analysis, and general scenario analysis. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>PhD or master's degree minimum in Economics, with up to 5 years of work experience, preferably with prior consultancy and/or macroeconomic and demographic modelling experience </li><li>Experience with preparation of macroeconomic scenarios for stress testing, US household demographic research, and scenario (what-if) analysis. </li><li>Mathematical aptitude required with a strong ability to work with scaled datasets and interpretation of economic data. </li><li>Intellectually curious, collaborative, and positive can-do attitude; strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex economic concepts and models in a clear and concise manner to clients and other stakeholders. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build effective internal and external relationships across multiple stakeholders to effectively manage projects and win new business. </li><li>Proven project management skills </li><li>Travel requirement - some travel throughout the United States is required of the role for client engagement, project management and business development support. </li><li>Ability to use programming languages for data and economic modelling, ideally in Eviews software. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
