<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This is an applicant pool, andapplications received for this position will be retained in our applicant database for possible future opportunities.</p> <p>Individuals will be hired as needed.</p> <p>Employment in this part-time position is contingent upon funding provided by the</p> <p>Adult Education and Family Literacy Program.</p> <p>The Adult Education Instructor is responsible for conducting classroom instruction and the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive adult education program.</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with experience and education as determined on Lurleen B. Wallace Community College local Salary Schedule L, at a rate of $25.00 per hour for a maximum of 19 (nineteen) hours per week.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and manage student learning and performance through data. </li><li>Assess learners' prior knowledge, learning needs, and college and career readiness goals. </li><li>Set learning goals and a course of study. </li><li>Monitor learning through summative and formative assessment data. </li><li>Adapt instruction based on formative and summative student assessment data. </li><li>Plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-based instruction. </li><li>Design learner-centered instruction and classroom environments. </li><li>Design standards-based instructional units and lesson plans. </li><li>Use instructional techniques that are effective with adult learners. </li><li>Design instruction to build learners' technology and digital media literacy skills. </li><li>Design instruction to build learners' higher-order thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Effectively communicate to motivate and engage learners. </li><li>Communicate high expectations of learners and motivate them to persist to meet their goals. </li><li>Engage in active listening, dialogue, and questioning to facilitate and support learning. </li><li>Model an understanding of diversity. </li><li>Nurture positive relationships with community organizations, families, and local businesses to support student learning. </li><li>Pursue professionalism and continually build knowledge and skills. </li><li>Possess content area knowledge and teaching skills required for subjects and populations taught. </li><li>Participate in professional development conferences, meetings, and learning communities. </li><li>Refine instructional practices through reflection on experience, evidence, and Data. </li><li>Participate in and contribute to program improvement efforts. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment</p> <p>The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Perform night and weekend duties when needed. </li><li>Travel to various campuses and instructional sights as needed and scheduled. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
