<p>Summary</p> <p>Elephas, a Madison, WI-based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our team Wednesday through Saturday, on a 10 hour shift. Responsibilities will scale with experience and educational level. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be a highly detailed and clear communicator who will contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of Elephas' cancer diagnostics platform.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Handle live biological specimens safely and free from contamination in tissue culture </li><li>Process live and fixed biological specimens </li><li>Operate and maintain laboratory equipment </li><li>Communicate with various stakeholders regarding instrument performance and process bottlenecks </li><li>Adhere to all safety protocols </li><li>Keep accurate and timely records in electronic laboratory notebooks </li><li>Perform operations to meet quality expectations throughout the process </li><li>General lab maintenance as needed </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience/Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in lab technology, microscopy, instrumentation, biology or related field is preferred but not required, if relevant work experience is applicable </li><li>Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment </li><li>Experience in safe tissue handling methods </li></ul> <p>We offer our employees competitive compensation and benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan, and stock options.</p> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
