<p>02nd December, 2025</p> <p>Why NHCS?</p> <p>Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social emotional well-being of our students and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their SEL growth. We do not give up on kids. Our expectation is that all of our students thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. Our educators are partners with our scholars and their families as they embark on this path.</p> <p>What is the Mobility Paraprofessional role?</p> <p>A mobility paraprofessional supports students with mobility needs in a school setting by providing personal assistance and reinforcing techniques. You will provide 1-1 mobility assistance to your assigned scholar which will include: assisting with transferring, positioning, and other mobility needs. Our ideal candidate believes deeply that all children have the ability to be successful when given the support and scaffolding to best serve their learning profile.</p> <p>This is a full-time, 10-month, school-year position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Employment is contingent upon the scholar's continued enrollment at NHCS. The hourly pay range for this position is $22-$27 per hour, commensurate with experience.</p> <p>Is this You?</p> <ul> <li>You have prior experience working with students with physical or mobility challenges in a school or related setting preferred. </li><li>You have familiarity with safe transfer techniques, positioning, and use of adaptive or mobility equipment. </li><li>Experience providing 1:1 support to students, ensuring both safety and dignity in all assistance provided. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate with special education staff, physical and occupational therapists, and classroom teachers to support individualized student plans. </li><li>Strong understanding of student confidentiality, professional boundaries, and inclusive education practices. </li><li>Compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with diverse needs. </li><li>Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement mobility and </li><li>You are able to start ASAP </li></ul> <p>Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is committed to being an anti-racist organization.
