<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the supervision of the administrative staff, this position is responsible for historical interpretation for visitors at the Reed School Historic Site, and for daily operations support activities.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Mastering provided tour guide information and adding to your knowledge through additional reading and study. Interpreting this information to the public. </li><li>Greet guests to the site an provide them with a site tour and/or historical information. </li><li>Providing high quality customer service to the public regarding the Reed School Historic Site. </li><li>Providing accurate information about the Site's layout, programs, products, and the Wisconsin Historical Society. </li><li>Cleaning of displays, desks, windows, floors as needed. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Pay is $14.00 per hour with a weekend differential of 80 cents per hour. This classification is in schedule and class 18-00.</p> <p>Please note this is a Limited Term Employment position so it does not include paid time off or benefits upon hire.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>A criminal background check will be conducted by WHS prior to an offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job.</p> <p>This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours. This position will be part time and average 12 - 16 hours per week.</p> <p>Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.</p> <p>Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.</p> <p>WHS does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to learn Reed School and related history and impart knowledge to visitors in an engaging way. </li><li>Ability to relate professionally and pleasantly to visitors and other staff. </li><li>Knowledge of site and policies. </li><li>Skills in basic arithmetic (math) </li><li>Ability to record data </li><li>Basic computer skills </li><li>Ability to meet physical demands of position: lifting objects up to 35lbs, several hour stretches of continuous standing, stooping </li><li>Ability to work weekends and evenings. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
