<p>Job Title: Lab Technician</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for processing SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures. Your role will involve producing antigens and reagents, as well as preparing buffers, media, and solutions. You will complete internal documentation and perform various housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures. </li><li>Produce antigens and reagents. </li><li>Prepare buffers, media, and solutions. </li><li>Complete internal documentation. </li><li>Perform housekeeping activities such as waste disposal and glassware preparation. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in laboratory procedures and working in a cleanroom environment. </li><li>Use of personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Experience with aseptic techniques, including the use of a fume hood. </li><li>Knowledge of biology and microbiology. </li><li>Skills in pipetting and operating an autoclave. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required. </li><li>1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role is based in a manufacturing environment with an 8-hour shift starting at 7:30 am, including breaks. You will be required to stand, use hands to handle objects or tools, and use a microscope regularly. Walking and sitting are frequent, and you must be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. The position requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, and color vision.
