<p>SALARY (non-negotiable)</p> <p>$68,993 - $93,558 includes employee benefits package</p> <p>Paygrade 16</p> <p>HOURS</p> <p>12 months 40 hours, 260 days</p> <p>Contract Unit: These positions are part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Extensive experience in public school pupil transportation will be considered in lieu of educational requirements.</p> <p>Three years of experience in a public-school setting or a closely related field.</p> <p>Knowledge of Wicomico County road/street segments.</p> <p>Ability to use Microsoft Office.</p> <p>Flexibility to work unusual hours on short notice.</p> <p>Must be void of any conflicting interests with existing Wicomico County School vehicle contractors.</p> <p>Possession of a valid driver's license.</p> <p>Ability to pass a non-commercial drug test to operate an agency vehicle.</p> <p>Must provide a cell phone for use on the job for which the employee will receive a stipend.</p> <p>Demonstrated leadership and management skills.</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>Experience with computerized school vehicle routing and scheduling preferred</p> <p>Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, policies and regulations related to the transportation of general education students, students with disabilities and students qualifying under the McKinney-Vento Act.</p> <p>Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) is preferred.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Assist the Transportation Manager - Routing & Information Systems in developing, implementing and supervising programs associated with the safe, efficient and economical student transportation of Wicomico County Public School students by:</p> <p>Work with school-based and central office administration in addressing student transportation needs.</p> <p>Assist in the adminstration of the daily operations of contracted and public owned school vehicle service.</p> <p>Assist in the evaluation of school vehicle contractors and driver performance.</p> <p>Develop safe and efficient school vehicle routes in compliance with all federal, state and local laws regulations, policies and procedures.</p> <p>Develop positive working relationships with parents, school staff, bus contractors/drivers, law enforcement and other community stakeholders.</p> <p>Maintain computerized route, trip, stop and student information.</p> <p>Attend meetings and developing and working with other transportation staff members to provide quality driver training for new and existing drivers.</p> <p>Assist with the audit documentation associated with route manifests and trip payments.</p> <p>Administrate and enforce all laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to the transportation of public-school students.</p> <p>Assist in the evaluation of road/weather conditions during inclement weather or emergencies to determine the status of school openings/delays.</p> <p>Assist with the inspection of school vehicles on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.</p> <p>Maintain continuing familiarity with the county and its growth, requiring constant review of all existing communities, new communities and new roads that affect school vehicle routes.</p> <p>Effectively address parent and community concerns relative to pupil transportation services and traffic safety.</p> <p>Maintain confidentiality as applicable to student transportation matters.</p> <p>Report to work regularly and promptly.</p> <p>Perform other job-related duties as assigned.</p>
