<p>We are actively seeking an addition to our Catering Team! If you have Catering Management experience, we have a great opportunity for you as an Assistant Catering Manager in our newly designed Sayville Catering Office</p> <p>Our new hire will be detailed, organized, with the ability to work under pressure. This individual must be well balanced at multitasking and delegating, in addition to being motivated to increase their knowledge in the specialty. During the high season, extended hours, weekends, nights, and holidays are required.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Take orders from customers either in person or over the phones, ensuring that the correct amount of food is ordered. Always with a smile! </li><li>Event planning and menu design </li><li>Schedule outside vendors for items such as equipment rentals, wait staff and other resources as needed </li><li>Process online orders, collect and process payments received </li><li>Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedule </li><li>Assist catering manager with clerical needs </li><li>Assist in setting up and managing in store demos </li><li>As needed, will assist with deliveries of catered ordered and events </li><li>Respond in a timely fashion to all customer complaints </li><li>Cultivate and develop relationships with our customers </li><li>Process weekly gratuities </li><li>Other duties and functions as assigned </li></ul> <p>Functions within the position</p> <ul> <li>Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives </li><li>Come up with suggestions to enhance the event's success </li><li>Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers </li><li>Lead promotional activities for the event </li><li>Supervise all staff </li><li>Ensure event is completed smoothly, working to resolve any problems that has arisen </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Past experience as Event Manager, Catering Manager or Assistant Catering Manager in food and beverage </li><li>Skilled in project management </li><li>Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management </li><li>Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office </li><li>Outstanding communication and negotiation skills </li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability for quick problem solving </li><li>Must be outgoing and assertive and a team player with management </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>We offer an exciting benefits package to all our employees! There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. </li><li>May require lifting objects up to 50 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 50 pounds with assistance. </li><li>Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. </li><li>There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents. </li></ul>
