Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Facilitates process of patient management in the surgical center.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in making pre-op calls to patients if possible.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with the front office staff on intake process as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with pre-op assessment and teaching.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans and prepares for interoperative nursing care of the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Gathers equipment and supplies based on patient needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to create and maintain multiple sterile fields/observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis.</p> </li><li> <p>Functions in the role of Scrub and Circulating nurse.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs sponge, sharps and instrument counts as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers medications and solutions as prescribed.</p> </li><li> <p>Position and prepare patient on operating table.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors and controls the environment. Adheres to safety standards and precautions.</p> </li><li> <p>Delegates duties only to competent appropriate personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in maintaining and assuring proper functioning of equipment and sterilizing procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs in emergency situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates readiness for patient discharge and collaborates with the anesthesiologist in the discharge process.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports any potential or actual adverse event as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Documents clearly and maintains the patient record.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains pleasant and open communication with patients, families, staff and physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties, as assigned.</p> </li></ul>
