<p>Overview</p> <p>This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office in Raleigh, NC.</p> <p>This position provides leadership and subject matter expertise in coordinating, assessing, developing and communicating recovery requirements and contingency plans associated with the company's business units to protect the firm in the event of an unforeseen disruption. This senior position will advance the business continuity program, ensure alignment with the organization's growth and increasing regulatory requirements. Provides very complex program leadership between key groups within the enterprise and continuously promotes strong partnerships.</p> <p>This role oversees and executes planning and implementation of the business unit contingency planning to mitigate risk associated with complete or partial failure of facilities, technology systems, vendor services and availability of staff. With minimal supervision, this position coordinates and facilitates all business continuity planning activities including risk-based exercises. Directly interacts with the business units at all levels of the organization and support groups for the purpose of assessing, planning, directing, controlling, and maintaining the contingency planning effort. The role will drive the refinement of business continuity plans, the business impact analysis, risk assessments and meeting the regulatory reporting requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Business Continuity Planning and Implementation - Lead the execution of the business continuity roadmap with direct input into key areas of focus to continuously enhance the program. Create a best-in-class program to develop and maintain business continuity plans taking into consideration industry best practice for LFI. Directly work with the business to improve quality of plans during annual refresh cycle and as needed. </li><li>For assigned business units, facilitate the development and maintenance of business continuity plans. Providing guidance on the business impact analysis, dependency mapping and mitigation strategies. Challenge the business unit to ensure plan is accurately documented and provides assurance to recover critical operations. Facilitate tabletop and functional exercises to ensure plans work as expected. </li><li>Establish key relationships with Technology and Risk partners to ensure program alignment. Make sure program is alignment to regulatory standards and required reporting is completed on time. Actively support incident and crisis management response including post-incident reviews and improvement initiatives. </li><li>Business continuity training and awareness - develop and deliver business continuity workshops on a regular basis. Create engaging material and facilitate workshops with large audiences virtually and in person when possible. </li><li>Coaching and reporting - mentor junior team members in the field of business continuity and support members as needed. Prepare presentations for executive leadership to communicate complex information on an as needed basis including development of the annual business continuity report. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Enterprise resilience, recovery, business continuity, crisis/incident management, technology or risk management</p> <p>OR</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Enterprise resilience, recovery, business continuity, crisis/incident management, technology or risk management</p> <p>Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services</p> <p>License or Certification Type: DRII CBCP, PMI PMP</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Direct Large Financial Institute (LFI) experience withing banking industry with strong business continuity and overall resiliency background. </li><li>Excellent communications skills with ability to articulate complex business continuity and technical concepts during business continuity planning and disruptive events. </li><li>Proficient in developing PowerPoint presentations to engage executive leadership, partners and business units. Strong skills in developing and maintaining program standards and procedures. </li><li>Expertise in data analysis using MS Excel, is very comfortable working with large amounts of data and can identify key insights. </li><li>Represents business continuity program during exam and audit with extensive experience in managing assessments and driving successful outcome. </li><li>Excellent organizational and project skills with attention to detail when dealing with multiple deadlines and high priority initiatives, including execution of management action plans. </li><li>Making sure the business continuity program is in line with industry best practices for LFI, future growth through mergers and acquisitions and FFIEC IT BCM Handbook. </li><li>Takes initiative and makes progress without constant direction and easily adjust approach within fast moving environment with multiple priorities and needs. </li></ul> <p>#LFI-JM1</p> <p>Benefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.
