<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Center point for all constituent inquiries regarding workers' compensation issues and other miscellaneous inquiries. </li><li>Draft, edit, and distribute agency publications. </li><li>Develop a robust network within the State government to understand decisions being made and the impact on the agency. </li><li>Create PowerPoint presentations, speeches, and talking points for leadership to present at Commission or stakeholder functions or for media release. </li><li>Prepare, update, and manage content on the Agency's website and/or social media sites. </li><li>Plans, coordinates, and promotes agency programs and activities through traditional and visual/digital media on behalf of the agency. Monitors news media and social media on behalf of the agency. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.</p> <p>Knowledge Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of journalistic principles and practices for the dissemination of information. </li><li>A high level of Emotional Intelligence is required </li><li>Ability to write, edit, and produce publications for various formats and mediums. </li><li>Ability to connect with the public to assist them through the process </li><li>Successful performance of the job duties for this position requires superior organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships to work in a team environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or any combination of experience and education.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Please submit with you application a small, 500 words or less, writing sample of a media response using the situation that there was a security breach at the commission requiring law enforcement response that was captured by the local media. Do not use AI.
