<p>Title: Maritime Trades Program Lead & Instructor</p> <p>Agency: Paul D. Camp Community College</p> <p>Location: Franklin (City) - 620</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>Hiring Range: $67,607 - $77,747</p> <p>Full Time or Part Time: Full Time</p> <p>Additional Detail</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrolment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.</p> <p>Develop, oversee, and provide instruction and/or oversight for various maritime trades programs for the Division of Workforce Development. Includes programs related to the Maritime Trades in such areas as pipe fitting, sheet metal, ship fitting, coating, welding, outside machinist and electrical. Coordinates internships with employers. Assist with recruiting, training and mentoring new and existing instructors. Oversee the usage of equipment and consumables across trades programs. Provide feedback about program effectiveness and development for future programs.</p> <p>This is a Grant-Funded Restricted Full-time position.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Valid active certifications in at least one of the maritime trades industries: AWS (American Welding Society) or any other maritime trade recognized industry.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach a skilled trades program in an area related to the Maritime Trades. </li><li>Ability to recruit and market programs. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and without supervision. </li><li>Ability to make sound recommendations and decisions. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedures to a variety of processes. </li><li>Ability to prioritize workload, anticipate and meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse public. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of PC-based software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, and email; Solid knowledge and experience using computers and classroom technology. </li><li>Experience handling conflicts professionally; knowledge of effective customer service and project management techniques. </li></ul> <p>Additional Considerations:</p> <p>Experience working in workforce development in higher education and/or community college.</p>
