<p>GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>This position of Crane operator is responsible for all operating function as listed below. Operation of the</p> <p>Crane unit must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and</p> <p>productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions must be followed as</p> <p>outlined.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Listed below are the primary activities which must be learned, understood and followed according to</p> <p>work instructions. The process engineer/supervisor, Group Leader and Shift Leaders will monitor each</p> <p>person and provide any necessary instruction or direction as necessary during the training</p> <p>period.</p> <ol> <li>Make sure all Crane parts are in working order and set points are correct per work instructions. If </li></ol> <p>necessary make proper adjustments.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Operation the vacuum crane to remove plate from the line and any other crane operation in the </li></ol> <p>plate shop.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Overhead crane operation.</p> </li><li> <p>Packages all the material ran thru the line assisted by Temporary Personnel (when material</p> </li></ol> <p>permits).</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Have basic knowledge about the functions of the pickling line.</p> </li><li> <p>Visually inspect of the plate as it is getting moved over to the packaging area to ensure proper</p> </li></ol> <p>chemical pickling has occurred. The crane operator must know the possible defects during the</p> <p>pickling and shear process.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Check plate measurements (width, length, thickness) on each plate received from pickling and </li></ol> <p>shear line in coordination with the shear operator.</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Obtain each plate spanision weight ran thru the line.</p> </li><li> <p>Verify stencil ID number on each plate provided from previous line.</p> </li><li> <p>Attach plate's barcode tag on each plate spanision ran thru the line.</p> </li><li> <p>Log comments on plate tracking sheet about the material that has been processed.</p> </li><li> <p>Operator must be able to run the shear to receive top pay level of (4).</p> </li><li> <p>Crane operator must inspect black plates when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Miscellaneous: Performed as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all prescribed safety rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Housekeeping/ Maintenance works as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Any other tasks assigned to you by your Turn Lead, Group Lead or</p> </li></ol> <p>Supervisor.</p> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li>As a Crane operator, you must work as a member of your crew, communicating with on another </li></ol> <p>during the normal course of the days work.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Your chain of command is first with Turn Leader, Group leader, Process Engineer/ supervisor and </li></ol> <p>department manager.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Any other duties you are assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Participation in continuous improvement programs is required.</p> </li></ol> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Minimum requirements of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), basic computer skills and strong</p> <p>communication skills.</p> <p>PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <ol> <li>Mobility: Stand (stationary) 25%, stand/walk 40%, walking 30%, sitting </li></ol> <p>5%,</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Strength and Agility: Lifting-occ., 50 #, carrying-occ. 15 # , push/pull-occ. 50 #., climbing-fre., </li></ol> <p>balancing-fre., bending-fre., stooping-occ., crouching-occ., kneeling-occ., crawling- occ.,</p> <p>running-fre., twisting-occ., turning-occ.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Dexterity: Grasping (firm/strong), finger </li></ol> <p>dexterity/handling, reaching.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Must have the ability to communicate and read the English language.</p> </li><li> <p>Vision ability- physical test required</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work a rotating shift (rotating from days to nights on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule)</p> </li></ol> <p>HEALTH AND SAFETY</p> <ol> <li> <p>Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all company safety rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Shift Leader,</p> </li></ol> <p>Group Leader or Supervisor immediately.</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Use of all equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn: </li></ol> <p>a. Safety shoes</p> <p>b. Safety glasses</p> <p>c. Hearing protection</p> <p>d. Hard Hat</p> <p>e. Gloves and Sleeves</p> <p>f.Acid PPE</p> <p>g. Any other PPE required for the area you are in.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the </li></ol> <p>Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>You must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean and safe work area.</p> </li></ol> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.</p> </li></ol>
