<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: VTC Location - Fairmont, WV</p> <p>Position Type: Full Time</p> <p>Education Level: GED</p> <p>Salary Range: Undisclosed</p> <p>Job Shift: Day</p> <p>Description</p> <p>NATURE OF WORK: With supervision, the incumbent will serve as a personal guide, mentor and role model as well as a navigator to helpful recovery resources and a liaison and advocate to professional and community supports and resources. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will also assist the client to develop and maintain and monitor his/her individual Wellness Recovery Plan. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist's duties include providing outreach, support, and recovery check-ups in the community with addicted individuals and their families.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Work actively with a minimum of 20 clients. </li><li>Provide mentoring through life experience to individuals experiencing substance use problems. </li><li>Meet face to face with the individual and identified supports and/or by secured video conference at a frequency and format requested and agreed upon by the individual. The meetings can occur in a facility or in the community. </li><li>Develop Recovery Wellness Plans with clients and monitor those wellness plans with them scheduled and unscheduled during meetings as identified above. Link (and document) clients to available resources including but not limited to: continuing education/Professional Development, safe housing, recovery supports, self-help groups, medical/health facilities, and substance abuse and/or mental health services. </li><li>Serve as a liaison to the client's formal and informal supports including but not limited to: their referral source, family members, client's sponsor, treatment provider, and faith-based support. </li><li>Maintain working relationships with staff of Valley's programs and other agency or institutions in order to provide awareness of recovery as a reality and the availability of Peer Recovery Support Specialisting. </li><li>Receive on-going supervision and training in order to provide Peer Recovery Support Specialisting services to the highest degree and the benefit of the community and individuals served. </li><li>Prepare and maintain all required documentation and reports of weekly activity which includes but is not limited to: number of contacts, method of contact, number of Recovery Wellness Plans initiated and monitored number of referrals and outcomes, number of referrals and status of those requests, and number of agency contacts and content of those contacts. </li><li>Assist consumers in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health, or other problems. </li><li>Provide outreach and early intervention to individuals in the early onset/stage of recovery or remission as well as those experiencing symptoms of relapse. Provide support by assisting consumers in identifying and resolving problems and making effective use of resources. </li><li>Adhere to Valley's Standards of Conduct and Compliance. </li><li>Serve on committees as assigned. </li><li>Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings as required </li><li>OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or certified high school equivalency. </li><li>Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-Step Fellowships. </li><li>Ability to comply with Valley's and Division departmental safety procedures. </li><li>Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Ability to legally transport clients. </li><li>Current CPR/First-Aid Certificate or ability to be trained. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or certified high school equivalency. </li><li>Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-Step Fellowships. </li><li>Ability to comply with Valley's and Division departmental safety procedures. </li><li>Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
