<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Program Manager of Adult Education, the part-time, long-term sub/instructor provides instruction for High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests (i.e., GED and HiSET) in the academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies within the Carroll and Coweta County Prisons.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Teach HSE classes that consist of standards-based lessons in reading, writing, speaking, and/or language skills based on the individualized learning needs of students. </li></ul> <p>(60%)</p> <ul> <li>Utilize pre-test scores to develop targeted instruction for students; devise student learning plans for all students based on pre-test scores and prepare students for post-testing. </li></ul> <p>(20%)</p> <ul> <li>Conduct and coordinate student assessments. Review post-test scores and practice test scores. </li></ul> <p>(5%)</p> <ul> <li>Promote adult education throughout the service delivery area. </li></ul> <p>(5%)</p> <ul> <li>Complete and maintain appropriate attendance and assessment records and ensure timely submission (daily) of data. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.</p> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:</p> <p>This is a part-time, long-term sub teaching position available through September 30, 2025 with the potential of being extended based on funding. Weekly hours will range from 13 to 9, dependent upon instructional time, planning, professional development, and student needs.</p> <p>Travel:</p> <p>Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.…</p> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>and* </li><li>Two (2) years related work experience </li></ul> <p>Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis</p> <p>Preferred Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree; </li><li>Minimum three (3) years' experience in education, or </li></ul> <p>related field;</p> <ul> <li>Teaching Experience in middle, secondary or adult Level in math and reading; </li><li>Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills; </li></ul> <p>Location and Hours of Instruction</p> <p>Carroll and Coweta Prison teaching evenings (5:00PM- 8:00PM). The schedule includes teaching three to four evenings per week dependent upon student need.</p> <p>Rate of Pay</p> <p>$22 per hour - no benefits.
