<p>Job Category Faculty Position Title Assistant Professor of English, non-tenure-track Working Title Assistant Professor of English, non-tenure-track Scheduled Hours Per Week Salary FLSA Status Exempt</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Department of Humanities at Concord University in Athens, WV invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English who would serve as a full-time, non-tenure-track lecturer beginning in August 2025.</p> <p>The faculty member in this position will be teaching composition and writing courses almost exclusively, the bulk of which would be our general education composition courses.The Department of Humanities houses the English, History, and Spanish programs.</p> <p>Faculty teach a 24-hour load per academic year, usually 12 hours per semester.</p> <p>Concord University, established in 1872, is a public liberal arts institution with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students, nestled in the scenic mountains of southern West Virginia.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Duty/Responsibility</p> <p>This position involves teaching classes on campus, including corequisite classes that are paired with a lab that meets one-hour a week. The faculty member will also contribute to assessment (both General Education assessment and English Program assessment) and will participate in curricular and programmatic decision-making, as well as student advising.
