The teacher will inspire creativity and promote an appreciation for art through age-appropriate instruction in a variety of mediums and techniques, aligned with state and national standards.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that promote creativity, skill development, and knowledge of art history and cultural art forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop curriculum aligned with district standards, state benchmarks, and the National Core Arts Standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.</p> </li><li> <p>Create a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages artistic expression.</p> </li><li> <p>Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school and during art exhibitions or school events.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and organize art supplies, equipment, and materials within budgetary constraints.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess and document student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and administration to integrate art across the curriculum.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with school policies, safety procedures, and district regulations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Visual Arts (LQ or LX)</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience teaching art at the elementary level</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of child development and differentiated instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Strong classroom management and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in integrating technology into instruction</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Classroom environment within a public school setting</p> </li><li> <p>May require standing for extended periods and lifting/moving art supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Participation in after-school events or exhibitions may be required</p> </li></ul>
