<p>REPORTS TO: Director of Building & Grounds</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Director of Buildings & Grounds, the Second Shift Custodial Supervisor is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of the second shift custodial crew to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of school grounds and facilities. This role includes maintaining the overall condition of buildings and grounds to support a safe and functional environment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <p>Supervises and evaluates the effectiveness of second shift custodians. Provides guidance and training to new second shift custodial staff. Meets the needs of the Evening School program including but not limited to unlocking/locking classrooms, helping with setup and breakdown of classrooms, controlling temperature and lighting. Responsible for the management of school vehicles including refueling and proper garaging for the evening. Monitors custodial supply inventory to prevent loss and for ordering purposes. Maintains custodial equipment by checking and replenishing fluids, performing minor repairs and cleaning of equipment. Responsible for set up and breakdown of evening meetings. Ensures that the building and grounds are available for safe use by monitoring inside and outside lighting, performing building security checks and communicating with the Director of Buildings & Grounds when required. Additionally, and in consultation with the Director of Buildings & Grounds, the Second Shift Custodial Supervisor ensures that evening snow removal efforts are appropriate for the needs of the school. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings & Grounds or Superintendent and/or their designee.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Excellent communication skills. Honest, reliable, dependable. Self starter. Proficient in operating computerized equipment, including systems used for HVAC management. Capable of following instructions with precision and efficiency. Ability to work effectively with the public, staff, and students. Ability to use small hand tools for performing minor maintenance tasks. Must be authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>High School Diploma required. Hoisting & Hydraulics License required. Two years of supervisory experience preferably in a unionized environment. Minimum of three years of custodial experience, cleaning and maintaining institutional facilities required. Valid Driver's License required.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>This is a 12 month position. Approximate work schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM</p> <p>SALARY: $55,000 - $60,000 per year</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>The physical demands and the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Often required to reach with hands and arms. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Occasionally pushes or pulls items such as tables, bleachers, or scrubbing machines.
