Join our team today!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Lead efforts to provide a framework for Quality Assurance and Quality Control for AEP Project Management. Assure data accuracy, consistency and integrity within Project Management applications while serving as Product Owner on behalf of the Business Unit. Working independently, responsible for managing the product throughout the product lifecycle from planning to execution in support of organizational strategy and objectives. Quickly grasps new concepts and rapidly transforms these concepts into practical product solutions. A leader empowered to make the day-to-day decisions and to execute the vision and strategy for the product across the organization. Management of customer relationships and expectations is a critical component of the position as is expert communication, problem solving and leadership skills. Also required is an ability to translate between technical and business concepts and the ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of the organization while leading enterprise-wide implementations of IT applications that impact the Project Management Organization. Additional responsibilities include monitoring adherence of Project Management Teams (PMT) to the approved project delivery model.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <ul> <li>Develops and maintains strategic product vision and roadmap. Highly Proficient in Project Management computer systems. Demonstrate a very high level of ability, motivation, and attitude in working with a team to successful project conclusion. </li><li>Develop an understanding of the AEP project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards. </li></ul> <p>Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the AEP Project Management Governance Committee. Assist in identifying quality improvement measures and work with management to implement.</p> <ul> <li>Must be knowledgeable in data analytics techniques and demonstrate the ability to apply these techniques. Provide framework for enforcing data integrity rules during data entry. Provide data variance reports to determine anomalies. </li><li>Recommend and implement improvements when required. Perform quality audits to determine if project activities comply with organizational and project specific policies, processes, and procedures. </li><li>This includes ensuring the PMT is coordinating as a unit to establish original baseline, time-phased budgets, and execute the baseline approval process per the project delivery model. Collaborate with other departments and groups as necessary, including Project Management, to define and monitor macro and micro performance metrics to measure process/productivity improvement effectiveness. </li><li>Provide an objective view to ensure the metrics are driving correct behavior across the broader organization. Collaborate within the department to ensure that cost and schedule processes are aligned. </li><li>Provide clear and concise written status reports to necessary groups and leaders. Provide training support as needed for Project Management as well as other departments impacted by departmental policies and processes. </li><li>May serve as Product Owner on BU team or Product Line, responsible for product backlog creation and prioritization. Serves as voice of customer for assigned product. Perform stakeholder identification and analysis. Assist with developing Organization Change Management plan for product. </li></ul> <p>What we're looking for and what you'll get:</p> <p>Quality Service Product Manager Senior pay grade 8($96,110-124,940)</p> <p>Quality Service Product Manager Principal pay grade 9($112,869-146,730)</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management. </li><li>Bachelor's degree and four (4) years' qualified experience. </li><li>Associate's degree and six (6) years' qualified experience </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years of experience as a Product Manager (Grade 7) is preferred but not required, OR demonstrated competencies, knowledge and skillset through achieved results in a shorter timeline. </li><li>Qualified experience includes work in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in an engineering or construction environment. </li><li>Knowledge in negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, and quality control, risk management, etc. is preferred but not required. </li><li>Experience must include project management and business/financial administration activities and responsibilities. </li><li>Human resource administration with supervisory experience would be beneficial for advancement into Quality Service Product Manager Principle (grade 009) position. </li><li>Demonstrated preparedness for journey level PM knowledge capability in areas of construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, risk management, etc. is required. </li></ul> <p>License/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>A certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Business Analysis (PBA), AACE certification, American Society for Quality (ASQ), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), etc. is preferred but not required at the Quality Service Product Manager Principle (grade 008) level of this role. </li></ul> <p>OTHER REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Primavera, ACC AutoCAD, and Earned Value Management preferred </li><li>Own project management and project controls applications for PMO </li><li>Safely and effectively perform light physical duties at various work sites including home and AEP locations in varying conditions. </li><li>Understand and support the policies, values, principles, structure and behavior of AEP. </li><li>Must have a clear understanding of typical Project Control methods and procedures consistent with Project Management Institute's Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies. </li><li>Provide effective leadership, team building and meeting management as outlined in PMBOK and the AEP leadership competencies and values. </li><li>For nuclear positions, work performed at nuclear power sites may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC </li></ul> <p>In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.</p> <p>Compensation Data</p> <p>Compensation Grade:</p> <p>SP20-008</p> <p>Compensation Range:</p> <p>$96,110.00-124,940.00 USD</p> <p>The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
