<p>An opportunity to Inspire, Challenge, and Empower!</p> <p>Posting Information: We are currently hiring for an Open Doors Case Manager for Choice High School beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. Open until filled.</p> <p>Interview Process: Applicants are encouraged to apply by the deadline provided above. If selected for an interview, you will be invited to complete an Asynchronous Virtual Interview. Candidates chosen for a second round interview will participate in an in-person interviews at a date to be determined.</p> <p>Schedule: 8 hours per day, 200 days, Start Date August 20,2025.</p> <p>Location: Choice High School</p> <p>Salary: $28.87 - $35.09 per hour, depending on experience.</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible)</p> <p>Benefits: 12 sick leave days; Up to 12 paid holidays; 6 personal leave days (to be deducted from sick leave); 5 bereavement leave days; health insurance benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance. Retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS); other fringe benefits as allowed under under School Board Policies and Procedures.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Open Doors Case Manager supports the Shelton School District's Strategic Plan and the CHOICE Middle and High School Strategic Plan to the success of students enrolled in the Open Doors Youth Reengagement Program. Serving youth ages 16-21 who have dropped out of school or are not expected to graduate from high school by the age of 21, this role focuses on reducing barriers to graduation by helping students create personalized education and career plans, connecting families to community resources, and coordinating support services. The Case Manager will work closely with students, families, school staff, and community services and agencies while tracking student progress, attendance, and achievement.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in social work, counseling, education, or related field, OR, at least two years' experience providing case management, counseling, or related direct services to at-risk individuals or sixteen to twenty-one year old youth. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people. </li><li>Ability to pass a Federal criminal background check. </li><li>Ability and willingness to learn and implement new strategies and techniques. </li><li>Possession of excellent communication skills including active listening and two-way communication. </li><li>Ability and willingness to maintain an upbeat, positive, and collaborative demeanor. </li><li>Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment. </li><li>Ability and willingness to incorporate lightheartedness and humor into the workplace. </li><li>Ability and willingness to make independent decisions as well as work collaboratively with other staff. </li><li>Ability and willingness to admit faults and learn from mistakes. </li><li>Ability and willingness to apply policies, procedures, statutes, and regulations accurately. </li><li>Ability and willingness to effectively and efficiently perform work in a fast paced environment with competing demands through organization, attention to detail, and prioritization. </li><li>Ability and willingness to work with diverse students, staff, and families. </li><li>Ability to remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations. </li><li>Ability and willingness to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with students to create individualized service plans, setting clear goals and objectives for educational reengagement, personal development, and employment prospects. </li><li>Monitoring Progress: Regularly review and monitor student progress towards their goals, providing guidance, support, and adjustments to service plans as necessary. </li><li>Act as an advocate on behalf of students, liaising with educational institutions, community organizations, and employers to ensure students receive the necessary support and resources for success. </li><li>Proactively reach out to students and their families to address attendance issues, identify barriers, and develop strategies to improve school attendance and engagement. </li><li>Connect students with community partners, resources, and services that align with their goals, including employment opportunities, job shadows, internships, and apprenticeships. </li><li>Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed, helping students overcome challenges that may hinder their educational or personal progress. </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documenting student interactions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with program standards and regulations. </li><li>Collaborate closely with counselor, teacher, special education teacher, ELL/migrant coordinator, registrar, and administration. </li><li>Actively engage with community partners, local businesses, and educational institutions to develop and maintain relationships that enhance student opportunities and support services. </li><li>Creative Engagement: Develop and implement creative strategies to engage students in the program, making it relevant and appealing to their individual interests and aspirations. </li><li>Prepare regular reports on student progress, program outcomes, and any challenges encountered, contributing to program evaluations and improvement efforts. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul>
