The Athletic Trainer Tech's primary job function is to provide assistance in assigned provider offices under the supervision of a physician or his/her designee. The Athletic Trainer Tech will work closely and coordinate with the assigned team.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED required </li><li>Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program focusing on Athletic Training, Exercise Science or related field required </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>BLS within 60 days of hire required </li><li>BMVL required </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ul> <li>Assists providers in back office duties, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, patient history and assists with minor procedures. </li><li>Communicates and demonstrates a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers and others. </li><li>Adheres to policies and practices applicable for SOMC and professional organizations. </li><li>Provides patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence. </li><li>Collaborates with the physical therapist and the provider on delivering education to patients and families. </li><li>Documents patient response to treatment. </li><li>Participates in program quality management activities. </li><li>Contributes to the delivery of cost effective care. </li><li>Conducts research on subject matter related to athletic training or sports medicine. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Thank you for your interest in Southern Ohio Medical Center.
