Over a two-year period, participating engineers will rotate through multiple departments, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of engineering and operations. This immersive approach ensures that engineers develop a well-rounded skill set, encompassing everything from project management and process optimization to equipment design and production start-up. By working closely with different teams and departments, engineers will enhance their problem-solving abilities, broaden their technical expertise, and cultivate a profound appreciation for Silfex's innovative solutions and multidisciplinary collaboration. Ultimately, this program aims to nurture future leaders who possess a deep, holistic understanding of the company's core competencies and strategic objectives. Upon successful completion of the rotational program, candidates will be placed in a role in one of our engineering departments.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Become a technical leader in each area of the rotation </li><li>Develop, demonstrate and define the optimal conditions for your assigned processes </li><li>Develop knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and apply to processes </li><li>Perform risk assessments and mitigation plans </li><li>Understand yield, capability, and cost of assigned processes </li><li>Convert business level objectives into improvement plans for assigned processes </li><li>Evaluates existing manufacturing methods and sequences and recommends/implements improvements that increase efficiency, reduce cost, reduce waste, improving safety etc. </li><li>Write technical reports, work instructions and present status and results as required. </li><li>Engage with other engineering team members and provide cross functional support as needed. </li><li>Develop processes to improve key performance indicators. </li><li>Lead design of experiments (DOEs), tests, measurements, and provide data driven recommendations. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by department management. </li></ul> <p>Culture:</p> <ul> <li>Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex. </li><li>Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is part of everything we do. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required</p> <ul> <li>Recently completed a Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Material, or Chemical Engineering </li><li>Knowledge of machining and material removal operations is a plus </li><li>Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities </li><li>Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision </li><li>Competent with MSOffice Suite products with advance skills in Microsoft Excel a plus </li><li>Ability to travel up to 10% </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.</p> <p>The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly is required to lift up to 15 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.</p>
