The educational experience provided to our students and their families is rooted in a higher calling from God to honor and celebrate the gifts He has given us.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in English Language Arts for students in Grades 3-5 while serving as the 4th Grade Homeroom teacher. The role includes integrating Catholic teachings into daily instruction, maintaining a nurturing and structured classroom environment, and supporting the academic, spiritual, and social development of students.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Instruction & Curriculum</p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan, state, and national standards for Grades 3-5 </li><li>Teach reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary using best instructional practices </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students </li><li>Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly </li><li>Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning </li></ul> <p>Homeroom Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students </li><li>Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-filled classroom environment </li><li>Oversee daily routines including attendance, morning prayer, announcements, and student organization </li><li>Support students' social-emotional growth and promote responsibility and self-discipline </li></ul> <p>Faith Integration</p> <ul> <li>Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities </li><li>Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, Masses, and religious activities </li><li>Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church </li></ul> <p>Communication & Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning </li><li>Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required) </li><li>Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements </li><li>Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred </li><li>Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings) </li><li>Strong classroom management and communication skills </li></ul> <p>Skills & Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to Catholic education and faith formation </li><li>Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment </li><li>Strong organizational and instructional skills </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and independently </li><li>Professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to student success </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Full-time position following the academic school calendar </li></ul> <p>The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
